Sign me up!

I have a brilliant visual of me in my wedding dress, my vail billowing in the wind, atop a light trimmed wagon being pulled by Bawb on Kaht Kam. We are headed down Main Street toward my beloved. All eyes are upon us. I give my practiced Princess wave and smile. (above the pearls and below the crown). Who needs a Carriage and 6 little horses. Sorry Cindy. Game over. I win. Kaht Kam and a Wagon for $200!!!

Julie, GREAT job on the wedding segment in this weeks Podcast.

We will be seeing you on the next episode of redneck weddings. LOL. I can see it now. :rotfl: The visual is just to much.

I had the misfortune of getting married one year after my cousin's WDW very lavish Fairy Tale Wedding. White Rolls Royce, trumpeters, Wedding Chapel, amazing reception at BW with Mickey in attendance with menu from the Cali Grill.....the whole nine yards (which I believe she is still paying off!) was a very tough follow up. Needless to say, I kinda felt like my Colorado wedding was a bit redneck, despite the fancy Mickey and Minnie cake topper:rotfl2: I think Bob and the Kaht Kam and wagon would have been a nice touch!

And Julie, everytime I know someone who has a baby girl, I always point out they should start saving for wedding costs now! Thank goodness we had a boy;).....we just gotta worry about the rehersal dinner and the booze!

And one little tidbit about the officiant for the wedding...When my cousin got married, the Catholic priest at her Church (not sure which church, but she lives in Celebration) refused to marry them at Disney. They had a non denominational officiant at the Chapel and followed it up her Catholic Church....and they had to be careful not to tell the priest about their previous "marriage" an hour earlier at WDW!

All i need is DBF to agree to a wedding at Disney and we've got the transport and video taping all sorted! :rotfl:

That was one of my criteria when DH proposed. I'll say yes if Mickey can be there. :lmao:
I loved the segment, btw. It brought back many fond memories of the planning process. Oh yeah, Bawb - we were married May 8th and I'm pleased to say there were no love bugs in attendance at our Seabreeze Point ceremony or our Illuminations dessert party. :goodvibes
I was curious of one thing that I was hoping Julie would comment on - are outside vendors still allowed for photography and videography? We used 2 outside vendors and LOVED them! And for those seashell lovers, we had a beautiful seashell cake done for our Living Seas reception that was fantasic!

I am so glad that y'all enjoyed the first installment of the Wedding Segments! I am going to check into some of the questions that you guys have asked.

BTW, I love My Big Redneck Wedding!:rotfl: That show is pure comedy!

Julie,

Will you be doing a segment on the Intimate Wedding packages also? DH and I, ok...well...I am considering a vow renewal for us in the future, but no way on God's green earth can we afford the Wishes or Couture weddings! At least right now anyway...lol

If you head over to the weddings and honeymoon boards, there is a TON of information over there too! There are oodles of brides currently in the planning process and many of them are using outside vendors for photography and videography.

On the 6+ hours photography packages, a lot of brides have pictures before the ceremony of getting ready and then pre-wedding pictures, then you have the wedding, pictures afterwards, then the reception. Those 6 hours can be gone before all of the festivities begin at the reception (as you pointed out from previous experience in the podcast)! I think (don't know for sure though) that brides might be able to split up the 8-10 hour packages so that if you have a dessert party, you'll be able to use the photographer then too. Don't know that for sure though as I've yet to be an official Disney bride! :)

Looking forward to the Couture segment! There's a bride over on the wedding board who is doing one of those and her plans sound fantastic!!

I'm glad that outside photography and videography is still an option! We used STVS http://www.stvsweddings.com/home.html for video Chapman Photography http://www.chapmanphotography.com/ or out pictures and LOVED them both!!! We love both vendors and highly recommend both.

I have to say Julie, you explained Disney weddings so well, me and DBF are now dead against them! Seems like a LOT of hassle and expensive, ene if it is at Disney :thumbsup2

There are other aspects to Disney Weddings than what Julie described, which i'm sure that she will discuss on another segment. Yes, the weddings can be expensive, but they also have Intimate weddings that are not nearly the cost of what the Wishes and Couture collections are! :) The wedding planners at Disney do the work for you, for the most part too! (not trying to sell anyone on a Disney wedding...just wanted to let you know that there are alternatives available!) :flower3:

I still cant wait to hear the rest of the sections, especially the intimates (i am never the one for a big wedding). Although poor DBF looked postively happy when i said i went off the idea of a Disney wedding, i don't know how he'll react if i change my mind! :rotfl:

Oh well, cant wait till tomorrows podcast!
