I know that I need to pack the sunblock and shaving gel with the checked luggage. But they are both pressurized cans - is there any chance that they can explode in the belly of the airplane? That would be a nasty mess.

thanks to anyone who knows!

Used to be yes, not sure if that is still the case. Changes and progress you know.

When we went in 12/04, I put hairspray and shave cream/gel in doubled-up plastic zip-loc bags in my checked luggage and all was ok :thumbsup2

I, too, always put all liquids (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, liquid medicine, etc.) in a doubled plastic baggie in my checked luggage. A couple times, I have had a pop-up lid on conditioner pop open and everything in the baggie was wet. Because of the new rules, I was just reading a suggestion on squeezing bottles until the shampoo or conditioner reaches the top and then putting the lid on. The bottle is supposed to be dented in, but it creates a vacuum-like seal. I'll try that but will still put everything in the baggies.
