PSA for those who may not have noticed, the Aulani luau has changed their premium seating category from "VIP" to "Preferred."

Aside from the name change, the product itself has changed a bit. Previously, standard seating included one welcome drink, but VIP included alcoholic beverages from the bar throughout the event. Now, alcoholic beverages are included for everyone. Preferred also now includes the photo in the price, which had previously been a separate purchase.

This isn't new news, right? The name and all the details is the same as when Aulani brought back the Ka Wa A Luau earlier this year.

I don't know how new it is or isn't, I just don't know that they ever made an announcement about it, so many people may have missed it. When they reopened, I think a lot of people focused on the change to a plated meal instead of a buffet.

I still think the pricing should be tiered for those who are not drinking alcohol. My 10yo is not going to get the same value as an adult, especially now with drinks included in all tickets.

We did the luau once with VIP seating and it was a great experience because if the early entry and interactions before the show. But definitely not something I would do again with current pricing.

Add me to the list of people who missed it.

I made reservations the first day of bookings back in March and it says Preferred so I guess it has been a while. I honestly don’t think there has ever been an announcement though.
