So JT blew through a stop sign in NY the other day, cops pulled him and he was under influence. Glad no one was hurt .

Yeah, saw that. Billy Joel said the biblical 'judge not lest ye be judged,' which is reasonable until the facts come out. Saw Gayle King on CBS this morning saying how he is a really good guy and maybe made a mistake, wonder what she would have said if he had killed someone. I was disappointed by her comments.

Just looked it up and he refused testing. Here in California that would be an enhancement to his DUI charge. If he only had ONE martini like he is claiming why refuse testing?

Apparently in NY you can refuse the blood test also? The news said he failed the field sobriety tests and refused the chemical test. From NY DMV -

If you are stopped by a police officer who believes you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you may be required to take a “field sobriety test” which may include a breath-screening test for the presence of alcohol. If you are arrested, you will be asked to take a “chemical test” for BAC.You may also be fingerprinted.

This seems like a legal strategy--don't give 'em any more ammunition than you have to. Why don't drunk rich people just hire a driver? Then you can sleep on your way home.

Exactly. He knew he was toasted.

Legally, it was a great move to refuse a breathalyzer. He can stick to his "One drink" story, and the likes of Gayle King can continue saying what a stand up guy he is. Eyeroll.

He’ll probably plead guilty to careless driving for running the stop sign, pay a small fine, and the DWI will be dropped.

First offense DWI will likely be just a fine, but refusing the breathalyzer gets him an automatic license suspension. He spent about 9 hours in jail.

Driving drunk is not cool. Why on earth didn’t he get a ride?

Celebrities are always front page news. They wouldn't exist without it. Live by the publicity, die by the publicity. he will probably get away with it BECAUSE he is a celebrity. Tiger Woods sure did. There was a local news reporter who was arrested for DWI. He was off the air for awhile while he completed his 10 days in jail (was given a year's sentence but suspended to 10 days) but at least admitted what he had done.

His mugshot is also being widely shared across social media right now. That's how I first heard about this story. Also the fact that the officer arresting him had 0 clue who he was.

Why is someone who is worth hundreds of millions even driving themselves around? He could get Morgan Freeman to drive Mr. NSYNC around.
