Just wondering

I was talking to someone who is going to WDW very soon, they are staying on site, I asked if they got their FP yet and they told me that their child doesn't like rides or the characters so they haven't booked any FP at all, even though I told them they cost nothing to book and didn't need to turn up for them if the child doesn't want to go on them (they took the child to DL Paris)
Am I being unkind in wondering why they are spending so much money, and it is a serious amount on going to Disney to not even consider going on rides or meet characters. The child is a third grader by the way.

We all spend our money differently. Maybe they don't want to be committed to a plan.

Honestly I have a friend that plans her trips around the dining, and rides are just a bonus.
