Another interesting fact: If you are ever in Wilmette, Il, spend an afternoon visiting the Baha'i House of Worship. Ths gardens are spectacular and if you look closely, you will see this symbol among many others carved into the stone walls of the HOW itself. The HOW was built in the mid-1920's well before the rise of the accursed Nazi's. The HOW is nine-sided to honor the nine "Manefestations of God" (Jesus, Bahaullah (sp?), Buddah, Muhammed, etc) central to the beliefs of the religion.

the first thing i thought was "swastika." then i thought of hitler. awful that something that was used for so long as a sign of life was used to kill so many... but thanks for the info...now i don't think i will think of hitler when i see a swastika anymore. i never knew the history behind it.
