just wondering

Just a quick one for all of you....

Do you prefer do book all your arrangements by yourself or online? Or do you prefer to use a travel agent? Which way will get you a better deal? We have always (except for once) did it with out an agent, but do they get better deals?

My family & I prefer to do everything ourself. For our up comming trip we don't go for any package deals, so we call CRO to make our room only reservations for WDW & we also call the Marriot for our stay in Clearwater Beach & the Hampton Inn for our stays along Interstate 75. When we go in December once again we call CRO to make our room only reservations for WDW, same thing for the Marriot in Clearwater Beach & since we fly down during that time, we book our flights online & call Avis for our rental car.

I always made our own arrangements and ADRs in the past, but used an agent from Your Magical Journeys last trip. She got us the same package deal I could have gotten on my own from Disney, so didn't save any money there, but just having her take care of all the phone calls for booking the room and making (and changing numerous times) our ADRs was worth its weight in gold. It was completely free; from now on I won't do it any other way.

We like to do everything ourselves. We like to be able to change things if needed without having to call someone to do it for us. Plus with learning so much on the Dis I find I know more then the travel company! I know everytime I have checked prices I can get them just as cheep direct.

I like to do everything myself. I think its a lot more fun this way also. I have a great time comparing and contrasting different things. A travel agent just does everything for you..ehh. Also last year I got a quote from a TA and I compared it to if I planned and paid for everything myself...it came out cheaper...I love planning

I never called our TA once. Just sent a short e-mail and she would e-mail right back. She was the one who did all the calling ... to WDW. It was great!

We always book our own flights.

The rest, we usually price out ourselves and then call and get a quote from our TA. If we come out cheaper, we do it, if TA is cheaper, we book through her.

We trust our TA and have never had a problem making changes or getting a hold of her. We do make all of our own ADR's and tour ressies and stuff even when using the TA.
