Do people scan the first and/or second page of the CB before posting news articles?

I in no way mean this to be inflammatory, I am just wondering since there has been a lot of cases of duplicate threads.

Several times I've posted before reading/searching to see if it's already been posted. It's usually because I'm short of time and just don't have that extra moment to do the search. (and sometimes the search is down.....and other times from the title of some threads you can't always tell if it's exactly what you were going to post anyway)


Many many reasons for repeating threads. It's nothing I get bent out of shape about.

I pretty much just figure we all have similar news update programs running and whatever is flashing across my screen has already been posted 3 or 4 times by people with faster connections.

I never post stuff that is in the news, so this wouldn't apply to me. It doesn't bother me when I see it twice or three times or whatever, the only thing is choosing which one to reply on, if I am so inclined.

Geez who said anyone was bent out of shape. I saw Pin Wizard's comment on monkeyboy's thread and I was just wondering if people were too eager to share the news and didn't look or not.

ITA with Toby's Friend about reasons for not posting.

I just feel sorry for the people who post questions about things or need support and it gets pushed to page 4 because of all the duplicate political and news threads.

I rarely think of sharing anything from the news on here. Everyone has their computers with news. I don't get it...do they think someone doesn't read their news? Maybe they don't. AOL had it posted pretty early in the day. LOL!

Your compassion for others is touching but I'm sure those people who post with questions of needing sympathy manage to find their threads without a whole lot of problems.
I guess the movement of an internet bulletin board just can't be controlled, much as we'd like to do that sometimes.

I don't read the news on my yahoo page and I don't read my local paper either.....there have been many threads here that alert me to something interesting or newsworthy. LOL LOL
