Just wondering...how often do YOU get DVC email?

I think I've gotten 1 email from them- telling me they got my registration, or something like that. I DID receive my annual dues bill, and finally a membership card, in regular mail- but no planner for '08, either, and I'm starting to wonder... Am I missing something? I did email my guide about the planner last week, and he said he'd look into it- but I'm curious to know how often most DVC members receive email from our favorite mouse-

I don't think I have ever gotten an email from DVC. And I know they have my email address.

We joined 02-07-08. The only e:mails I have ever gotten were prior to purchasing, about "The Best Kept Secret".

I get their newsletter and I get any promotions. Have you gone on line and checked your profile to make sure everything is up to date (not the Disney profile, but the DVC profile). Also I remember that you had to choose that you wanted to receive emails. Have you done that? I did it for both of us. I don't get a ton of stuff, maybe 6-8 things a year.

Most recently an e-mail came regarding friends and family vacationing at SSR with codes for discount pricing.

How about the widget that's offered to download? Is it supposed to always alert you of news?

I have signed up for the email notifications SEVERAL times, and have yet to actually get one.

We received our membership cards about 6-8 weeks after closing and it had a flier that listed our Guides name and the latest promotion.

The only other thing we have received via snail-mail is an offer to get the Disney Visa and that came about 2 days after we closed!

We still don't have our planner yet and I called a couple of weeks ago to have one re-sent.

The only email I have received is the thank you for signing up note and responses to questions from MS.

Does the Disney Insider email count?

DVC used to have a monthly newsletter. I think it was called "Vacation Magic email update"...or something like that. That newsletter was discontined around June of '07.

Since then we probably average one mailer per month with nearly all of them being sales-related. Someone mentioned the special rates at SSR. We've also received emails with special sales promotions and that sort of thing. I don't recall anything that was purely informational in nature.

My hotmail account used to direct everything to spam or some neverland. I have had to put various dvc e-mail address in my "safe" list.

I have signed up multiple times at dvcmember.com, but have yet to receive even one.

I used to receive the Monthly newsletter, but since it's discontinuation, nothing.

I have received a few. My last one was also an offer for a Friends and Family special for SSR. I too had thought my e-mail was signed up and I had to re-enter it on the website and I then started receiving e-mails.
