Anyone have their party yet? I just wrapped mine up. It was a little tough to get the moms/dads with it being the beginning, competing with t-ball, football, cubscouts and dance classes on a Saturday, but I fared okay with four moms and 8 kids. Wish I could've gotten a few more, but it made the party more intimate.
I'm also wondering what kind of party ideas and themes people used. Mine was centered around Mickey, but I added some princess stuff in there for the feminine party-goers. I used the fizzy punch, and made the Animal Kingdom Lodge's banana bread recipe, except I spread the batter in a bigger pan to make flatter bread, then used a Mickey head cookie cutter. They turned out great! I purchased some of the Mickey head shaped cheese slices from
Walmart and put them on Ritz crackers (wish those came in Mickey shapes, too!), bought the Disney Princess and Cars shaped graham crackers, and got some Disney picks to put in cupcakes.
I displayed all our Disney World photo albums, pin collections, water park mugs and medals (Big Kahuna and Ski Captain), pressed penny collectiions, etc. I had Disney movie songs playing from our Ipod as people showed up, too, to put us all in the mood.
I thought the party kit that Mickey Moms Club was well supplied with activities and ideas, plus the website was helpful, too. For the bingo markers I cut out the 1x1 squares with construction paper and used a Mickey stamp on the fronts. The kids all LOVED the bingo game. I loved seeing all my favorite places, characters and things to do right there in a managerie! The Mickey ears party hats were so cute, too. Boys and girls of all ages liked those.
So, what have you others done or plan to do? I'm all "ears!"
