Just finished watching this week's Disneyland show. Great show...….especially interesting was the review of the Anaheim Hotel. o_O.

My wife and I will be in California in November for our first Disneyland visit. :-). We've fortunately haven't booked the Anaheim Hotel...….we'll be staying at the Red Lion Hotel. Pete's statement that the "Good Neighbor" seal isn't worth much got us thinking......

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Red Lion Hotel who can give us what they thought. I went out to Trip Advisor and the reviews there were all over the place. The one consistent statement I saw was...."rooms are worn and need a refurb". We can deal with worn...…...but nasty staff and bugs...…...that's an entirely different story.

Any info would be greatly appreciated...…...

It's cheap and right next to the Toy Story shuttle. It's our go-to when we just need a bed to sleep in. I've never stayed more than one night so it's just check-in, sleep, check-out. I'm not sure I'd stay there longer, there are much better and closer options for close to the same price.

Doug I can't say as I haven't stayed there so take this with that in mind. I spent a lot of time reading Trip Advisor but I've been more trusting of Yelp reviews so I can see if people actually checked in at the hotel. I was looking for a 1 night stay on Monday of Labor Day 2018 weekend and then for a future trip for July 2019. When I see bed bugs it's a huge turn off, and several reviews mentioned it of the Red Lion. The Red Lion used to be a quality hotel, but since they begun spinning off locations IMHO it's gone down hill. At least on that Labor Day Friday I got a great price at the Sheraton and a much better room.

Agree with the pp that for one or two nights, the Red Lion should be fine. The TS lot is close if you want to take the free shuttles. But for your first DLR visit, if you will be staying for more than a couple nights, you might want to stay closer to the parks.

Thanks everybody...……..helpful info. Sounds like its not the Anaheim Hotel that the DIS had to deal with. Trip has been booked since Sept 2018 so I don't want to muck with it now :-). We'll be at DL for 5 nights but most of our time will be in the parks. Next time I send this email BEFORE I book :D
