I'm very emotional right now...haven't stopped tearing up all night as a matter of fact.

My daughter has agreed to be my maid of honor! And she is also going to sing during my ceremony. She has already downloaded the song and she has already started to practice.

As if this wasn't an already emotional time for me...my baby is all grown up and singing for me! {sniffle}

That's great! I know having her support must mean a lot to you. What song will she be singing? I found that having important people do songs was really important to me...not really the day of because I didn't hear them, but I love the music part of our video. Anyway...YAY!

Kryssi! That is amazing! How cool to have such a wonderful and talented daughter...make sure to take a hankie with you so in case you are overwhelmed you don't smear the mascara! I can't wait to see the video and hear her sing!

aww, that's really nice of her. Be sure to wear waterproof mascara on your day and take a bag full of tissues.

Ohhh, that's so cute! I wish I knew someone who could sing...I would love to have live music at my ceremony. And having the singer be your daughter must be so special!!

Amanda :sunny:

Thanks all! This is really important to my family. I'm usually the one who sings. I sang at my mom's wedding to my stepfather and will be singing at her 60th BDay party in August and so, it's extra special that this is passed down.

Erika (she's 18) will be singing "God Only Knows" the Beach Boys cover that was done by Mandy Moore. The song is just so pure and sweet and matches Erika's voice perfectly. It just seems like yesterday that she was dancing around the house and singing "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas!

Oh yeah, if singing at my mom's wedding taught me anything, it's to load up on the Kleenex and wear waterproof mascara. Only it wasn't just my mom...it was my stepdad too!

awww...how sweet!!!

Reading about you all tearing up at your mom and stepdad's wedding reminded me of my cousin's wedding last year.

She had asked me and two other cousins to do readings for her. So, the first cousin got up...and could barely get through her reading. A little later, the second cousin got up and she didn't get very far either. (The pastor was starting to make funny comments, which was a good thing, 'cause we all felt kinda stupid! :teeth: ).

Finally, I got up there and REFUSED to look at my cousin (knowing I would just lose it if I did)...so I just looked out at all the guests and recited what I had to do...then, with only two lines left...I looked over at my cousin...

She looked so beautiful and so happy...and she was crying...and I lost it! Barely finished the words and could hardly see to get back to my seat.

The pastor said something to her later about not being sure we were the best choices to do the readings. It was really funny! He really helped everyone get through it...

^^^That is so beautiful! It's so nice to see families with that kind of love for each other.

I make it a point to not look directly at the person I'm singing for...otherwise; waterworks!! Can't sing with your throat closed up!

Can I just say that from your picture I was thinking you were y'know...24ish...yet you talk about your daughter being all grown up...you must have started young!!!! :rotfl:

Katy...thank you! Nope, not considered young anymore, but I certainly feel it! I'll be 40 in September and my daughter is 18. That pic was just taken in January. Goes to show how being in Disney relaxes ya, huh?

BTW, my fiance is 30 :rolleyes1

You're 40.....right...and I'm white!! <<<<<< look down at counter and look at pic >>>>>> :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You look good girl. I can appreciate your compliment too. I told someone the other day I was going to be 37 in July and she was like, "NO WAY!! I thought you were in your mid 20's!!" I was ready to give her all the tip money I had in my pocket! :cool1:

Blessings to ya,

Denise :thumbsup2

Denise...OMG... :rotfl:

Thank you! I'll tell ya what though, I may look younger than I am but man, when I wake up in the morning and twist my back and I sound like someone squeezing a whole bunch of bubble wrap, lol!

That's when I go "yup, you're almost 40!"

Hey and congrats to you on your weight loss. You're doing really well according to your ticker.

Good to meet you and have a great day!

My DD is a bit of a singer (and a lot of actress) and sings like a bird all the time. She, however, thinks it would be weird to me and mom and dad's wedding. Maybe she'll come around :rotfl2:

I have to jump in here to with the almost 40 crew! I'll be 39 for the FIRST time in December...Kryssi, I thought you were way younger than me...I'm sure your young man keeps you young....I have always sworn by "Age is only a number...it's the attitude that counts!"

I have a close friend who just turned 40 whose husband is 27!

Here's a pic of me and my DD17 on our girls only trip last October

You guys are making my head really big now with all these compliments! :cool1:

Tinkerbellz, your daughter is beautiful! My daughter used to dress like that until just last July when she turned 18 when she realized she needed a job, lol! Didn't matter to me...when I looked back on what I looked like in the 80's, how could I ever say something to her, lol!

One thing to remember everyone, I'm wearing sunglasses in that picture. They hide the Samsonite I'm carrying under my eyes. :rotfl:

Thanks Kryssi! I know exactly what you mean...Yes, I wore parachute pants!:rotfl2: She's a mess...she cracks me up...she's a good kid and she definately marches to her own drum...She will be attending college with me beginning this summer...

As a matter of fact, she will start the day after we return from her Graduation trip! She's more than ready though.

I know you will make some special memories with your daughter singing at your wedding. It will be a very special time for the two of you. Enjoy the moment! :cloud9:

Aww thanks on the compliment about my weight loss. I appreciate it. I've gained some of it back, but I caught myself and I'm on my way to losing again. 2 gone and only 13 more to go! I want to be down 15 pounds by my anniversary trip! Want to look really cute on our anniversary night. ;)

So happy to hear that your "baby" is singin' for ya on your special day! I hope all of you are truly blessed and everything goes off without a hitch! :woohoo:

Blessings always,

Denise :goodvibes
