Hello friends,
I posted this on another board in response to an incident at DPT where supposedly a CM discouraged a kid and his mother from getting into pin trading, that it would ruin the magic for them.
I don't know about the rest of you, but there have been times here recently when this hobby has saved my sanity. Just to know I have a place to escape from reality with very special people that have endeared theselves to me because of having caught this addiction. I love it and I love you guys. And I love this board, it is very special. It came into my life at a time when I felt very discouraged and let down in this hobby. It was through this board that I met some VERY special people, you know who you are, and I care for them so very much!! And I am secure in the fact that they care for me.
So here is my post, and just let me say, LOVE YA MEAN IT!!!!!!!

''However, I know I have cut back on the amount of pins I buy. Not that I bought "boat-loads". But I mainly just buy what I need and maybe an extra here and there. But not always.
As far as the kids go, I do NOT agree with the cast member in question. I posted day before yesterday about an experience of meeting a child who had been bought her very first lanyard, and I chatted with her and GAVE her two Cinderella pins. The beaming smile on her face was priceless!! Who wouldn't enjoy that?? THAT my friends..was MAGICAL!! I believe for her and definately for me.
I know of course that there are some kids who are "seasoned" if you know what I mean. But generally, they are just kids looking for a fun pin of perhaps a favorite character and not even caring if it's an LE or not. They just like the pin. How innocent and wonderful!!
I have more than once traded an LE for a rack pin from a kid, just to make some magic for them. You just can't buy that kind of warm fuzzy!!! NO way!!
And as someone else has already stated, there are the friendships I have made because of the "hobby". These past 6 months have been so up and down emotionally for me, with my folks, daddy's passing, mom's illness, stress on my husbands job, The Navy making more demands on hubby as well. WHEW!!!! The best part has been those times when we were able to just get away, escape if you will, from the real world, go to WDW or even just the friday Contemporary meet. To be with my pin friends, and continue to meet more, and Yes, "Continue The Tradition". All I can say is ....PRICELESS!!!!!!!! And worth every hour I stood in line etc etc etc. I was in "good company"!!""
So to quote Forrest Gump,
"That's all I have to say about that!"
Blessings,
Winnie
