Just Waitlisted for October 2012 BWV @ 11 months

OK, got your attention. Not exactly 11 months. The 11 month window opened 12 days ago and only today my daughter decides to ask me to book her a room for Oct. 20 for 7 nights (Oct. 20-27 -- only the nights of Oct. 24th and 26th were available). We are already booked there at exactly the first day of the 11 month window. I told her I would only spring for a reservation if I could get her into a standard studio. Well I called and only TWO of the SEVEN nights were available. I wasn't really shocked because I am an owner there and did buy there for October trips mostly. Not only was the standard-studio nearly filled for that week, two nights were also missing had I wanted to book the bw view (which I didn't). I know there's been alot of threads regarding booking at the 7 month window, so wanted to throw this out there for anyone wanting this accommodation for October 2012. Yes I did waitlist since I knew I would be higher on the waitlist since the 11 month window just openned. I wasn't shocked that it was booked up -- though I had been asking her for the past week what she wanted me to do.

So the preferred view (non-BW view) was still available??

Wow! I'm staying at BCV for my F&W stay next year, but when I want BWV, it's usually standard view. BWV owners know a bargain when they see one! I do hope you get what you want via the wait list.

Yes, that was the only option for a studio left.....and that was only 12 days after the 11 month window opened!

I am not surprised that SV studios go that quickly for October. We tried to book a SV studio for early December, 2009, at exactly 11 months out and it was sold out becuase I did not book until several hours after MS opened. -- Suzanne

Best of luck with your wait list. We will be at the BWV that week too in a one bedroom standard view. I am so excited. It has been too long since I have attended the Food & Wine Festival for a whole week.

I too called about 10 days after the booking window for my home resort BLT for the same week and there was no 2 bedroom std available, so I took the lake view (they did have MK but I did not want that). I ended up taking LK view because I do love looking over the lake from the balcony but I may call back and WL the standard view just to save points.

Wow I am surprised especially for this week. I wonder what the state of availability is a month out for the entire resort? Is it usual for BWV to be totally booked at 10 mos. out for F&W?

Perhaps that's just "the" week for next year. It isn't an exact week we've gone before but I reserved a BWV boardwalk view studio for then and did it after the 11 month mark so they weren't snatched up immediately. In fact I just added 2 nights on to it just before MS closed today.

Your wait list has a good likelihood of coming through. I tried to book two SV stuidos right at the 11 month mark last year for this past October and had to book preferred and waitlist. The waitlist came through quickly.

Not guaranteed, but I think you may be ok. We also waitlisted for one night in a SV studio in May for October (added a day to the trip) and got it.

We also own at BWV specifically for October F&W. I had to book our 11 month 1 bedroom BW view over Thanksgiving so I booked it on Wed that week for the 23- 29 and then moved it on Saturday when I remembered (Friday was a shopping day, afterall) to the 24-30th. We've never stayed in a standard room there and only once in a preferred view that wasn't BW view. That was when I booked a last minute trip and BW view wasn't available.

Keep in mind that sometimes members make reservations just in case they can talk the family or friends into going at that time and it doesn't work out so the reservation is cancelled. It's early still, when the seven month mark rolls around some members will move their reservation (or part of their reservation) and hopefully your WL come through.

Thanks for the well wishes for my waitlist. At least I'm ahead of the 7 month waitlist folks.

I am a waitlist dropout though. I just don't do well with them. I waitlisted for Jan. 18-22 at the BWV - standard studio on the first day of the 7 month window and it's never come through so far -- with a month to go now. It's after the MLK weekend, starting on a Wednesday for only 5 nights. I thought I might have a chance since it's mid January, no holidays, no marathon. I am booked at OKW for those nights and switch to BWV the last 5 nights. I'll be OK with the mid-switch, but kind of thought I might get the waitlist considering the time of year. I'm pretty sure it's not coming though, while on the phone last week I asked the CM to check it, and he said none of the days are available. I do love OKW too, so it's all good.
