We picked up our car at MCO last Saturday, Nov. 29th. Our flight arrived around 2:30pm. We did have about a 20 minute wait in line(which frustrated my DH as we've been spoiled by Nat'l EA). There was no pressure to buy additional insurance as we went to the counter saying we didn't want anything extra. Our amount charged was exactly what my quote was. We had a compact car so our choice was either a Pontiac Sunfire or Chevy Cavalier. We picked the 2 door Sunfire, but my DH was not thrilled with it because of the huge blindspot when pulling out into the left lane. Other than that it was fine as it was clean and economical on gas. I just don't understand why after standing in line for 20 minutes we than have to sit in another line in the parking garage once we're in the car - I find that extremely frustrating as by then I'm so anxious to be on my way to WDW!

You have to wait in line because they want to make sure you have taken the correct class car. Other places assign the car and hand you the key and there is no waiting. Alamo and National don't work that way, they let you select what you want.
Gotta check on some people, they will take advantage (no, not you, I am speaking in general)

The second wait in line used to annoy me about Alamo too, but then I learned that the only reason we never waited twice at Avis was that we generally arrive really late (around midnight). At that hour, the Avis counter person just hands you the keys and you leave. But a few trips back, we were on an earlier flight and had to wait in line in the garage to get the keys, even after waiting at the counter. It wasn't a long line, but judging by the queue ropes, it must get pretty ugly sometimes.
