JUST UPDATED 10/22!! 9 DAYS AND NIGHTS OF GRAZING AND DOWNRIGHT GORGING tons of pics!

Day 5 is finally here THE MAGIC KINGDOM! Yippee, I get to finally see “THE Mouse”. Funny how the mouse is absent, except for shows at the other parks. Or was that just us? Seems like I never saw that sneaky highly intelligent and adorable rodent except the MK.

I wont go into detail on in this thread about out days at the parks, but if you would like to read more just follow the link in my siggy for my complete trip report :)

After a fun morning at the MK, we got hungry and headed over to Columbia Harbor house. LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS PLACE! By 11:15 there was already a line to wait in, but DH had no trouble finding a table by the window upstairs. I loved the country kitchen tables with the high back chairs. Very cozy, lights dimmed and very cool. I could have stayed inside here for a couple of hours and people watched.

me being the serving wench!

This would be one my DS’s favorite meals of the week. My DS loves fish, and there was something about this fish that made him clean his plate, which is something we rarely get to see.

DD, DS and I had fish and chicken. It was very hot, and fresh and crispy. Everything was freshly cooked just before we got it, which I’m sure makes it even better.
dtddisneyMKday1164-1.jpg

My DH had the ham and cheese sandwich, which he said was very good and fresh.
dtddisneyMKday1163-1.jpg

Dessert was chocolate cake, and I have to say I thought this was one of the best desserts this week, no joking. It was so moist and if you love a lot of frosting you'll love this. I do but DD scraped half hers off. It was really good, and we all finished ours off.

:thumbsup2

I’m realizing as I give you my trip report my Foodie side pops out big time. I tended to snap more pics of our food than the MK LOL. It’s ok, though, with almost 1,000 pics taken, surely I have enough LOL.

We were never hungry enough today to get a snack, tho I did try a dole whip later in the evening, but didnt snap a pic. Oh dont worry there will be one later! lol!

4:30 comes really fast and we head over to the Poly. Again, I can not say enough good things about renting a car. We never used a bus, and were able to take breaks during the day and make it to the store for stuff. I loved being able to get from POR to the Poly in 5 minutes.

We arrive at Poly to have dinner with our DD at 5pm. This restaurant is NOT in the same caliber as many restaurants as far as décor and ambience go. However it is one of the better restaurants for food quality. We had the smallest table for four adult meals. We couldnt fit our appetizers on the same table as our main courses, so we HAD to finish our appys before our dinner could come out. I should have asked for a round table. So here is my heads up to you all. Ask for a round table, you will have a lot more room! Even the rectable tables with 2 people on each side would have been bigger, I had the feeling our table was really meant for 2.

Lilo and stitch carved from chocolate, cool huh?
We start with appetizers.

DS ordered Wings. After they came, we all wished we had ordered them. OMG yum. Just yum. I love it when I get wings with out a lot of fat and fried crispy, but the sauce on these was just yum. If you think these wings are the same as Ohana, you’re wrong. Ohana has nothing on these wings baby!
konaandwishes005.jpg

Sticky Wings - crispy wings in a garlic glaze with a tangy mustard drizzle and toasted sesame seeds $7.19

DD, DH and I all ordered Crab Cakes. They were very good, They don't compare to those wings though.
konaandwishes006.jpg

Crab Cakes - pan-seared lump crab cakes with Asian tartar and pineapple relish $10.19

Now of course this is the one restaurant that doesn’t ask about allergies. My DD has a mild allergy to nuts in that it makes her mouth itch and throat itch. Nothing serious, just uncomfortable. DD orders the Mahi minus the nuts, but it comes out with the macadamia nuts. We had to send this back, which takes quite a while. In the meantime we all dig in, sorry DD!
konaandwishes011.jpg
this was awsome!
Macadamia Mahi Mahi - served with mushroom risotto, sauteed bok choy, lime beurre blanc and crispy fried onions $20.49

DH and I ordered the Steak. YUM. What can I say, it was delicious. Loved the mashed potatoes.
konaandwishes010.jpg

DS ordered the Shrimp and scallops, minus the scallops. Fish for my son, does anyone see a pattern lol??
konaandwishes009.jpg

Shrimp and Scallops - panko breaded shrimp and pan seared scallops with sticky rice and ponzu, spicy guava-passion fruit and wasabi cream sauces $20.49

Deserts were great. By far the prettiest deserts in the World!
konaandwishes015.jpg

Sons suprise birthday dessert! I loved this, was like a pastry with custard..so yum.

konaandwishes020.jpg

Kilauea Torte

konaandwishes017.jpg

White Chocolate Cheesecake

konaandwishes018.jpg

Kiddie Kone

konaandwishes019.jpg

Apple Brown Betty

All in all a very very good dining choice and a great choice for those wanting a break from the MK. It’s a short monorail ride. Or you can do what we did and drive to the Poly and leave your car there and take the monorail back after close. There is a catch, the parking pass isn’t all day, so it’s really only good to do this for your evening meal.

thanks for the reviews and pics. You have made me soooo glad that I have booked Kona!

Thanks again!

Your reviews are really making me hungry!!!! A quick question though. How does one reserve a diver at Coral Reef. I am planning a surprise vow renewal for my husband, and i thought that this would be an awesome way to let him in on it. Thanks again for the reviews and any info you can share!!!! :goodvibes

Yeah, it's our least favorite park. Just our personal taste. LOADS of people love it! We're usually pretty bored there. BUT, we never looked at it from a FOOD point of view. YOU shed light single handedly on that one! Grazing along will be fun I think! And this ill be teh first time our son will see the worlds. We didn't take hmn to them when he was 3 so it might be more interesting this time seeing them through him. :wizard:

AND I've made a ressie for Kona now purly on your pix! We had eaten there for breakfast once but never tried dinner! MMMMMMMMM :cheer2:

THANK YOU!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Does your DS like pokemon yet? My DS loves Epcot because in Japan they have a Hello Kitty/Pokemon store. We promised him on our last day (he wanted to do MGM again, but i just couldnt) that he could pick out something at the Pokemon store, and he went wild. He actually like world showecase though. we so most of our characters at epcot for autographs,
alladin, jasmine, genie, minnie, goofy, donald, stitch, chip and dale, and a few more.

It might be Sat night before i get another installment here. Have to work a lot till then, and then catagorize my pics for the new update but i WILL be updating i promise!

 This is my very first post on this forum. I HAD to join in because I just wanted to tell you how helpful your photos and food reviews have been. I have been reading and gaining great info. from this site which is helping me to plan our WDW trip in May 07. I know it must be an incredible amount of work to post all of this info. PLUS the amazing pictures. So THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! It has been so helpful. I'll be anxious to see your next posting. :cheer2:

I am so happy that I stumbled upon your Food Report. We have ressies at some of the places you went to and enjoyed. I'm gonna give myself a pat on the back for that :cool1:

I'm looking forward to trying Earl of Sandwich, too! Thanks for your mad photog skillz!

Not yet. He'd have to wrestle the Nintendo DS away from my DH! And here I thought I was getting a little game for my hubby that he might mildly enjoy sometimes but he's become completely addicted. Darn it! But anyway, I think DS would love Pokemon because he LOVES cute little animals! LOVES. I'm just delaying the inevitable I know.

Anyway! I'm really jazzed about eating around the world now! You helped me get a new plan entirely for the Epcot day! THANK YOU! Your poor photobucket account! :badpc: overload!
