I wanted to get a studio on Feb 19th one night. Nothing available....really not one place. Looked at 1 bedroom. Saratoga spring nothing else anywhere

That's because the schools in the New England states have winter break that week and they flock to Disney. Its also a few days before the Daytona 500 and A LOT of race fans stay at Disney because the room rates in Daytona a so high. For a number of years this was the week we went and there were tons of kids and people sporting their racing gear. Also this week is the big twirl mania competition at World Wide of Sports.

Thursday, Feb 19, is both the tail end of holiday time (Presidents' week) and the beginning of the Princess Half Marathon weekend and Daytona 500 weekend. That weekend typically has higher DVC demand than Easter time and July 4 time. Nevertheless, if all you need is one night, you should at least attempt the wait list.

Strictly based upon my observations and experience, Thursday nights seem to be the most difficult to get. Perhaps it's the intersection of people staying for a full week plus people arriving for a long weekend. Not a lot of Thursday morning departures, but demand sees an uptick for Thursday night arrivals.

I just finished making a 7-month reservation for June '15 and, sure enough, Thursday was the night that proved most troublesome.

How interesting! Thanks for that observation.

Indeed, for our upcoming Dec visit, we had to waitlist for the Thursday night arrival. (Gladly the waitlist was successful ... ~37 days from travel.)

We just signed our closing documents on our new DVC. We should have our member number by the first week of December if everything continues to go smooth. We have had a trip planned to Disney (since September before we even put an offer in on the DVC) for the last week of January (airfare has been booked and non refundable). My anxiety KILLS me every day that this is going to happen to us and NOTHING will be available. I knew going in that we wouldnt get our first or second or third pick booking 6 weeks before, but I didnt think that there would be NOTHING that I see is happening to so many people. I thought we may have to "waste" points on a 1BR or bigger when we only needed a studio but didnt expect complete droughts!

We would NEVER try to plan a DVC stay 5 weeks out (advanced planners!!) but this would be one exception because we already have our airfare that we booked before buying DVC.

I guess you really just never know, and you really have to plan!! Thats one of the big rules of DVC!

Good luck OP, I hope something comes your way!!
