We just tried The Wave for the first time! Wow! We should have done this a long time ago! It was super yummy! I had the filet and hubby had the chicken. He said his was good, but after he tasted mine, he wished he had ordered it! I didn't like the sides that came with the filet so I was allowed to pick new ones. Grilled garlic broccolini and three potato hash. The service was top notch! It wasn't very crowded and overall the atmosphere was so relaxing. My daughter ordered the steak kabob off the kids menu, and her steak was a tender as mine. We also ordered the seasonal dessert flight. It had key lime pie, upside down pineapple shot, and strawberry shortcake. My favorite was the key lime pie.

Our server convinced us that on our next trip, we should try their breakfast buffet. Mimosas included! I think she is right...we need to try it out!

I like to try new restaurants when I am at WDW, but I definitely will go here again!

Thanks for the report! We are staying at BLT for the first time in Feb 2018 and I've been reading up on the CR restaurants!

I just booked their breakfast for departure day in October and I'm looking forward to it. Had a dinner booked, but my mom is picky so I cancelled it. I think The Wave is one of the most positively reviewed restaurants on property, and I can't wait to try it!

The Wave is a good restaurant that gets woefully overshadowed by the other two in the same hotel. California Grill is one of the best signatures in the entire resort, and Chef Mickeys is... well... Chef Mickey's. Cali Grill has some very good views of MK, and Chef Mickey's is a character buffet, and one of the most different buffets here. The Wave looks like it's in a cubby hole next to registration. There's no views, there's no characters. All it can rely on is its food. And it's some darn good food!

I like the food at The Wave, it is very good, but most times when we have dined here it was an absolute nut house...lots of noise. We will usually eat at the lounge instead.

He told you mimosas were included with the cost of the breakfast buffet?

When we ate there for breakfast last year, we weren't charged for my mimosa. No one told me it was included. I didn't notice until we got back home. I just called it pixie dust. LOL The breakfast buffet at The Wave is my favorite that I have experienced. Just a relaxing experience with good food that feels upscale for a buffet.

We ate there on 7/6. I ordered a Virgin Mary, the charge was on the receipt, then zeroed out on the DDxP receipt.

Holding out hope for Ohana, but have a reservation there if we can't grab a spot. Glad to hear you enjoyed your experience!

We have been eating here for years. The menu changes often so keep that in mind. I have never had a bad meal yet from them. I like how they source local ingredients and are conscious to keep that menu changing for said reason. I miss the lamb chops and the rack of lamb. I hope it comes back. Until then I'm experimenting elsewhere. Great bar too. Perfectly strong drinks.

I agree, the wave is awesome! I loved my meal there. Definitely one of my fave restaurants. On my next trip i will make a point to try out the breakfast. :)

This is great to hear. Surprising my hubby with a 50th birthday trip in Sept and booked this for a dinner. Wanted to try something we haven't tried before. I'm looking forward to trying this one! :-)

We were there on a Friday night (7/7/17). We were seated at 7:30. It was not that crowded and the noise level wasn't that bad. I am glad when we were there, it wasn't rowdy!

Seriously? Well that's super irritating. I've had the breakfast buffet there four times and never was told anything about that. I remember last time the server asking if we would like a mimosa, but my traveling companion was on a budget so we both said no. If he had said they were included we would have had more fun!

The Wave is kinda underrated, IMO. It's quality food and good service. Nothing too fancy or heavily themed, but it's a reliably good meal. A nice to way to check out the Contemporary if you don't want to spend the time/money at California Grill or go nuts with the kids at Chef Mickey's.

She/He should have told you Mickey was picking up the tab for it! :sad2:
