Just took the DVC room tour at WDW

On the Plus side the rooms at GF are AMAZING - absolutely totally in love with them.

The Aulani rooms are great too - love the themes in both! Absolutely adore the GF though - best resort yet I think.

We went there to just look at the rooms to be honest but were so blown away that we actually decided to get pricing for a small add on to GF.

I need to step back and say that at one point we had 500 points at various resorts and have divested down to 150 points. Various reasons - partly because as our son aged it was better to travel to other destinations. In fact we have not used our DVC points in 3 years.

We decided to come for a quick 4 day trip to BCV and while here we signed up to see the new GF rooms as I said. I have to say they were so nice I actually thought MAYBE we do a 50-75 point contract for the future (our son in a sophomore).

Our guide was not available so we were assigned a fill in. The fill in was that worst guide ever. He was condescending and rude and sat back and gave me no information other that $150 a point - No maintenance fee costs -nothing.

When I said wow that is higher than we have ever paid I think we paid $80 he said "well I paid $58 so whats your point?" He then sarcastically told us we could get ice cream if we wanted.

We obviously left - and not too happy. I guess what I expected was for someone to explain the price increase and MAYBE explain why it was worth 150 a point. And maybe maintenance fees??? Is that asking too much?

Obviously we are not purchasing more points now - if anything it solidified my opinion that once they have you they don't seem to care and are off for new members. I guess a commission on 50-75 points was not impressive enough for him

Really really irritated - we wasted 2 hours of our time and have a terrible taste in our mouths. I cannot explain the apathy of this person and the sneer like we were so unimportant and a waste of his time.

No worries we will not be wasting his time anymore!

You might want to notify Member Satisfaction about the fill-in guide you had. And you might also tell your regular guide.

You should contact member satisfaction dvcmembersatisfactionteam@disneyvacationclub.com, what your "substitute" guide did was very unprofessional and completely disrespectful.

We also added 60 points at VGF and we were treated, as we have always been treated, with respect. Our guide was very informative and answered every single question we asked her. We did not sign that day because we were unsure of the number of points we wanted to buy. When we contacted our guide to make our purchase, she was out due to a personal situation, so, we were transfered to a "substitute" guide who was also very nice and asked if we had anymore questions. That is exactly what we expected and that is the way any person doing the tour, wether a new member or a current member, should expect from any guide representing DVC.

Thanks, I talked to our regular Guide this afternoon and he was shocked at how we were treated. In the end it was probably a good thing because I was totally ready to buy on the spot I really REALLY loved the rooms.

Now that I am sitting here in our room I realized I can probably get what I want at 7 months at some point or stay somewhere else if not (we really are not that picky).

I had thought to get 50-75-100 points to use every other year - In the end ole CrankyPants saved me money! LOL

I just booked 4 nights at GF for Feb and as excited as I am about trying it out the points are SO expensive to stay there!! We usually stay in a 2 bedroom, we like LK at BLT and for 4 nights LK GF it is about 100 points more for a 2 bedroom I doubt we will be staying there very often.

So sorry to hear that! We toured the rooms with no appt..just showed up and I told the CM I just wanted to see them and had no intention of adding on. Another person was in our group too who was doing what I was doing...and I was in a hurry as I had to leave to go on DCL and the CM was great.

The rooms are really awesome and I just booked a 1 bedrm for 4 nights march 23-27 yahoo

Today was the 7 month window......

I think a lot of people will want to stay there but few WILL as the points are high. 225 for 5 nights.....that's why I'm going for 4, I'll just switch over to the BW SV...for the other nights. But I'm super excited.
