We got married at 5:00pm so we decided to get photographs done before the ceremony so we'd have daylight shots.
Basically my DH got ready in the room before my make up artist arrived -I'd already seen him in his suit before the big day. Then once Laine from Beaute Special arrived my DH left went into the lobby, read the paper for a bit, grabbed a coffee, went for a walk around the Boardwalk and then came back into the lobby to wait for me near the time I'd given him.
Our photographer Randy Chapman came to our room to get some getting ready shots of me, so he accompanied me downstairs. Randy then asked me to hide near the elevators whilst he met my DH and directed him outside to get the best first look shots. Then I followed Randy out and met my DH.
Regarding walking down the isle, you can do whatever you're comfortable with, you can even decide on the day. We personally chose to have us walk down the isle separate for that last excited moment of being 'single'. Looking at my DH as I walked up the isle I began to get teary even though I'd just been cuddling him moments before.
My main advice would be not to worry about the small things as on the day none of it matters, particularly when there are no guests as you can just be yourselves and have a giggle. A lot of what we did was very ad-hoc, we decided to do a first dance because we felt so relaxed even though we did not intent to during the planning stages as we thought we'd feel a bit silly, but we just didn't care, it was our day and we danced and carried on like we do in our own living room. Your photographer, wedding planner, make-up artist, officiant etc have a wealth of experience and they pretty much guide you through the day. Randy in particular was a blessing!
I hope this helps and don't worry about having a million questions, Lord knows I have asked my fair share on these boards
