Just the free item?

I got that same coupon this week. Are they any good? What do they look like? That just sounds creepy...lol My thinking these days is in terms of gas prices and how many miles. My SUV gets 13 mpg, and the mall is about 20 miles round trip and gas here is $4 a gallon. The coupon says the value is up to $14.50. So, I will probably think of other things I have to do along that route to the mall to rationalize this trip, cause it will cost nearly $7.00 in gas just to drive there...lol. This is getting so crazy with the gas prices. I guess I'll still be $7.50 ahead and have a new pair of panties...:rotfl2:

Anyone else started thinking in terms of gas/mileage cost?

I think in terms of gas for most things ever since it was close to hitting $3 a few years ago. We are of course well over that now!

I just get my free item unless I have a real need for something else which is not often at all. I also don't take a bag unless like the OP I didn't have a bag. I try to always have a reusable one.

I love free promos but I won't go out of my way for something not that useful to me. I love underwear!

My DD will just get the free item although by the time she gets there, they're usually out of her size.

I usually just get the free item. I had a coupon for VS as well and went in and got my free pair. I have about 6 free pairs from them now. I do however have some other items from there I have bought on other ocassions.

I usually just get the free panty. I don't like their undies that much. I usually get them for my sister and give them to her.

Ill just get the free item, unless I just really need to get something else too. I am cheap and not afraid to admit it.

I think it's odd for a sales person to "offer" a bag when you're taking underwear out of their store. I think it showed either poor judgement or stupidity, on her part. Lately I've been really annoyed by poor CS. CS has taken such a nosedive in this country that I can count on one hand the number of places I deal with that still have good CS (Wegmans, Chick-fil-a, Disney World, and Wawa). Not giving you a bag was poor CS and I might get so pizzled about it I'd send an email to corporate about your experience. But I'm fired up that way.

Edit: Well, I just read through the other posts and realize this thread never took the "angry consumer" path so I'm a little out of place, LOL....please forgive me.

count me as one who tells them not to bother with a bag, just wrap it in a piece of tissue (i put it in my purse) - i consider it my way of saving a pink tree each time ;)

though when i picked up that last free panty, i needed a bag b/c i had 3 $10 secret reward cards ("bouncebacks" from april VS purchases made in the outlet) and $20 in angel rewards.
sooooo (budget related:)) i wound up with one really cute panty (the coupon had few restrictions), a set of 3 hook things to make any bra a T-strap, a tin of double-sided tape (sticks to skin and clothing to keep clothing in place), and a really pretty and rather large black and purple duffle bag (priced at $40 and the perfect size for a carry-on).....and my out of pocket total was $12

i love all the stuff having their credit card gets me!!

btw, if you have a VS outlet anywhere near you, definately try to visit - much of the stuff is 75% off - a small selection is only 50% off:rolleyes1, ALL panties are usually $2.50 (and sometimes less) including thosed ticketed way over $10, bras are currently $9 or less - including the ones marked $48, bikini bathing suit bottoms for $2, $2-3 nylon-ish beach bags (great for laundry day at WDW), etc. they have quite a few things, mostly fragrances, body/hair care, and makeup that is currently in the regular VS at 75% off ticketed price. fyi, all sales are final (though they will take items back if defective), selection is limited and changes quickly, early in the week is the best time to go for a broader selection, and they do not take most coupons (only the $10 off $50 coupon if it is from their store - YMMV:) )

I would have definitely asked for a bag.....carrying panties around in your hand in the mall would look creepy LOL And shoving them in my purse would look like a theft if I had to go in any other stores. They should carry little plastic bags too so they don't have to use those fancy ones for smaller items, still you could recycle the fancy VS bag or bring it back with you the next time :). Or you could use it to carry your other purchases throughout the mall that day ;)

I have always thought this way. The "free" panties aren't free if you have no other reason to drive that way. Our mall is about 15 miles away and my car gets 34 mpg. So, is it worth the $4.00 for a gallon of gas to get the free undies? Yes. But, I'd much rather make it a useful trip and go to Costco also, which I only go to once every other month. So, I need to get there pretty soon, or I'll miss my free undies.

And, to the OP, I never get anything but the free undies. VS doesn't sell a bra to fit me, and, having been married for 20 years, there only so much lingerie a girl needs!

I should have said in my first post. I didnt have any other bags. VS was my 1st stop and no purse. Had debit card keys and phone in my pocket.

Maybe she thought you were going to wear them out??:lmao::rotfl2:

sorry couldn't resist.

I do it all the time.. Yes they should put it in a bag without question.. She sounds snotty!
