Just talked to a CM and they said...

Of course going back to the 180 day window was in fact the plan at one point (which may be the source of this confusing news..)

But that plan has been revised and the 90 day window was made permanent a few weeks back.

I think this one CM is missing a few links in their communication chain.

Im just gonna say I dont care what they do but they need to pick one and stick with it.

I agree! I don't care either way, but want them to choose one or the other and stick to it.

I can't imagine them going back to 180. That will drive people crazy.

When we booked last week, the CM told me to keep an eye on the website in case they change the 90 day out rule for ADR. I don't know why they would say that if it wasn't likely to happen. We are going until the end of August so maybe it will be a while donw the road. If they do change it, they need to post park hours in line with this.

I was told on the phone when trying to make reservations that I had to wait "at this time" until 90 days out. She advised me to start calling weekly because this was going to change as soon as the new system was in place. Don't shoot the messenger! :-)

Again, I think they are working from old information.

That WAS the plan til about 3 or 4 weeks ago.. and then word came down.. that no in fact, they were staying with the 90 day window.

I think they're just working off the 'old info'

I talked to a CM this afternoon. They now have a new system for ressies after May 26th I think. You have to select that option in the automated menu. Anyway, she told me that the window now opens up at 100 days out (90 + 10). I asked if she meant that it was 90 days from check-in, plus 10 days following. She checked with someone and told me it was 100 days out.

I was actually calling to check for any Chef Mickey's cancellations in June, so I haven't hit either deadline yet.

Anyone heard this about 100 days?

This is for anyone staying on site. Just as they did before with the reservations for 180+10, so that for those staying on site they could make all their reservations at one time.

I think they are also still confused about what the 90+10 means - there have been plenty of Dining CMs that don't seem to understand it. Why would it be called 90+10 if it was really just 100?!?

It means you can call 90 days from checkin date and book ADRs for the first 10 days of your stay.

What's more aggravating is that it seems at least the old system allowed the CMs to book more than 180 days out - apparently it didn't enforce it very well.

Something to keep in mind as well - not every table is available to be booked at the +10 window. A limited number are. This allows for offsite guests, as well as those who are staying on-site but are checking in after you, to have a shot at getting a table as well once 90 days rolls around. At 90 days, the remaining tables are released.

Who cares? See the other thread on consolidations and you'll realize that low grade dogfood is the best Disney will be serving in the near future anyway. So unless Applebee's is your bar for great cuisine it's offsite you'll be dining.

Yup, because the consolidation can ONLY mean that.

These positions already existed. They were duplicated on each coast. That is going away.

Who's to say food won't get BETTER because of those being let go it won't include the idiot that has done what they have to the menus ANYWAYS.

Besides, the head chefs at the restaurants have a say in the menus.

I'm not saying it WILL get better, or it won't get worse. But there is NOTHING in the announcement that means anything in that regard.

Sigh...

Please keep it in the relevant threads.

I thought that the 90 day reservation period was to be only while they were upgrading their reservation systems and that it was always Disney's intention to return to 180 day ressies :confused3

While I agree that I like the 90 day ressie system better, I think it would be more of a surprise for them to retain the 90 day window.

That is what was expected to happen (although it never ended up as 90 days - they simply set a date limit) - then once they switched systems, it would go back. Then they suddenly announced that it would be 90 days going forward.

It is unknown if its meant to be a "permanent" change at this point.

I don't care which they choose (although I do prefer the 90 day window) but I do want something extra for staying at a WDW resort - like an extra 10 days before others can get the ADRs. I don't think they'll do that, but it is what I want.

I am a cast member at the DRC operating on the new dine res system. Disney has NO intentions to return to 180 day window.

It's not 100 day booking window, it's STILL 90+10 which does not mean 100 days. It means call 90 days from check in date and we can book you an ADDITIONAL 10 days past your check in date when you are calling on the 90th day from arrival when you provide us with your resort confirmation number. Which is the way it has always been.

Also, it was announced that the new system for booking your own reservations online should be going live the second week of March. TENTATIVELY! Remember folks, everything at Disney is subject to change. :)

I just want to be sure this is straight, as far as the additional 10 days...

If I'm checking in on the 1st, and call 90 days before that, can I book ADRs through and including the 10th or the 11th?

You don't do well with hyperbole I'm guessing. :lmao:

I see your point and appreciate your views, :thumbsup2 even if I think they're off base. :scared1:

The chef's were the heartblood of Disney's rise to superior dining from the depths of park food that they were previously known for. The Chef's used to procure their own provisions after designing their own menu's within the broad guidelines of upper Disney management. At some point in time the 'geniuses' decided that the system as it was, while working, wasn't as PROFITABLE as it could be. Thus came the cuts, the aim to please masses rather distinct niche groups. :sad1:

Now perhaps you can somehow see how these recent events could be better and reverse the recent trend but I just cannot.

Oh, and I won't take advice from you on how best to respond to a thread. Thanks anyway though.

Thank you for changing it to 90 days. Tell your boss that it makes way more sense and they should not change it.

Peter Pirate 2: I think the dog food dig was a bit much, but I certainly agree with you about the dumbing down of the food and the lowering of food standards. Eating off-site is what we'll be doing. I refuse to way overpay for what they are serving in most of the WDW restaurants and I'm afraid to go out and try new ones because I don't want to make an expensive mistake. If I'm going to eat in the parks, I'll just have a quick service meal. While yes those are overpriced also, it's just not like being gouged for a meal that will probably be mediocre at best. For the prices they charge at the table service places I expect an absolute top notch food experience.

Of course the dog food comment was too much but it's actually a quote from Caddyshack so I always try to quote the classics when I can.:thumbsup2

As for eating offsite, I went to The Palm at the Hard Rock last weekend, Cafe D'Antonio in Celebration last night and tonight I'm going to Charley's Steakhouse. I could go to Yachtsmans but that would just be a step down in quality and up in price.

Oh I sure hope this happens -- I can't wait to be able to search for ressies myself! I hate not being able to see what's available...

Any idea how the search is done? I'd love to just be able to say - show me availability for O'hana between these dates....and then be able to pick from any times/days... :wizard:
