No, this thread has nothing to do with photographing other people's children. It's about the people who set up a photo shot in an area that blocks the path of travel. Fine, most people will wait while you snap your shot. After all, many photo ops are very poorly located and practically force you to block the traffic flow (the Sorcerer's broomsticks in DHS near Brown Derby come to mind). But when people are being courteous and waiting for you, you need to be courteous and TAKE THE FLIPPIN' PICTURE! Don't play director for five minutes, making Dad move an inch to the left and little Suzy crouch another inch closer to the ground. If you drag it out forever, don't get pissed if people give up on waiting for you and walk into your photo range. Disney is a place for quick shots, not taking half an hour to set up award-winning artistic portraits. If you're gonna take forever, you're gonna get trampled...that's just way Darwinism works.

ICAM! :rotfl: I will wait about 1-2 minutes & if you're not done, I wave & quickly run by smiling at you :) Because I'm goofy acting I've yet to have anyone get mad - I think it's all about your approach :thumbsup2

We never really had a problem with this in WDW. I can see how it would annoying though.

i must be the rudest person on the planet. yes this happens all the time and ill give it less than a minute and if it doesnt look like their ready, im walking through.

So I had waited for my turn to have my picture taken in front of the Castle. The CM was taking it for me using my own camera. As soon as I sat down for my turn, this family jumped right in and the guy shoved me to move over. So without him knowing it I just put myself in there family photo.... :rotfl2: :lmao: I am on the right with the hat! The CM laughed so hard and he also took the photo, said he never seen anything so funny!

I'd loved to have seen the look on this mans face when he got home and saw me in his family picture! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

My mom and I were in Vegas a couple of years back and someone did this in the Forum Shops. My mom and I walked by and she said something out loud along the lines of "he's not going to get any better looking, just take the picture already."

That is so funny. As close as you are sitting to him I am so surprised he didn't notice. Serves him right though. If it were me I would of stuck out my tongue or made a stupid face.

I agree-now I have a time limit for waiting also. One minute should be plenty of time to push a button. If you can't take the pic in one minute then you can wait the two seconds it takes for me to walk thru.

I always find it amusing and sad to see these people, they get insane bent out of shape when people say the heck with waiting and then walk through their shot. If you want a nice family photo done perfectly then get one of the photopass people to do it for you. Just because you suck at figuring out how to take a picture dont hold the rest of the world up WE ARE ON VACATION TOO you know :lmao: and we didnt come on vacation to watch you take a picture :rotfl:

My DH is a real pain in the neck with the camera. He takes forever and the pictures usually look horrible. Last trip the photo posing routine got so bad by day 2, I had to wrestle the camera from him, because the kids were ready to stage a coup. Next trip, we're taking my parents. The kids are already getting anxious, because my mother is completely inept with the camera, yet insists on taking lots of photos. I thought the digital camera I gave her last Christmas would make it easier. Unfortunately, she now sees immediately that she's cut off heads and taken several photos of her feet as she fumbles with the camera, so the photo session takes even longer. I'm going to try and convince her that photopass is the way to go, but she's pretty stubborn. :rolleyes1

Or you could have leaned in and pretended to plant a kiss, wonder what the little women would have thought of that!

That pic is awesome, MsDisney23! If I had that photo, I would totally frame it.

I don't expect people to wait. Go ahead and walk through. With digital, we can just snap another.

However I think people need to become a little more patient in this society. What's the hurry, you are on vacation.

Ugh- I know what you are talking about. A few weeks ago we were at Idelwild (a local children's amusement park) on a very crowded day and we just happened to be touring an area a few paces behind a "photo happy" mom who was quite a b*** .

Her friend/relative who was with her actually said to her at one point- "just take the picture" and she GLARED at my kids and said "I WILL as soon as all these kids get out of the way." I made my kids move and she proceeded to set up a modeling session with her child for what felt like forever. My Dh and I just passed her up a few photoshoots after- she was crazy. She had a line of families behind her a mile long b/c no other child was allowed to experience the attraction until she had a photo op of her kid at it alone.

IDK if you are familiar with Idelwild but we were in Storybook Forest- essentially a large playground/walkthrough interactive children's play area- a real "hands on" place for kids. This lady expected every other visitor to wait and keep their kids from whatever she was photographing her child on at the time (ex. 3 Bear walk through house, Old Woman who lived in the shoe house, etc) plenty of room for many children to explore at once.

Nahhh, she should have put the two fingers, peace sign, thingy behind his head.......ok, I may be dating myself with that remark, but that's what we did as kids to our siblings.....sometimes all of us getting in on the act. Pissed dad off good because he was concentrating on those dials on his Nikon and not noticing us at the last minute. Of course this was LONG before digital so you didn't know what the photo looked like until after you paid for developing, lol.

MsDisney23 you are a girl after my own heart....and creative too!

I think they were supposed to look like bunny ears.

Totally agree with you, OP. I live in Seattle and visit the Pike Place market frequently and people are always holding up the place to take pictures. If you've ever been there, you know the walkways are very small. So it can get jammed up in a hurry. I'll wait a moment, but that's it. It's a tourist destination and there will always be someone else in your photos. :confused3
