Just switched to Copper Creek in March - current transportation and food options?

We moved a January trip to Feb and now to March because of Covid, and was lucky enough to grab 5 nights in a 1BR in Copper Creek. I was looking at making new ADR's and wondered about current transportation options to monorail resorts for meals. I know the boat to MK is running, but is the boat to Contemporary? If not, I guess we would boat or bus to MK and then walk to Contemporary and monorail to other resorts. Or maybe just Uber - not sure its worth getting a rental car at current prices. TIA

Last time I stayed there was many years ago so if I have an adr at ohana, prob better to uber I guess. Will miss that boat to contemporary.

Your food options at the resort itself are what I would consider limited. . .and I say this with affection in my heart for my home resort for the past decade and a half.
Roaring Fork: below average to middling QS. It used to boast a fairly solid collection of tasty sandwiches, side dishes, and made-to-order Mickey waffles. Since the refurb a few years ago, they never returned to their former glory.
WCC: It's fine if you like heavy, BBQ-inspired food in an all-you-care-to-eat format.
Artist Point: Once an exceptional signature, it is now Storybook dining with a prix fixe menu. If you want an expensive meal with some Disney character "appearances," then you're in luck.
Territory Lounge: At one time, this was a topnotch lounge where you could order many of the favored items off the Artist Point menu. After AP closed and then re-opened as Storybook dining, it has become a de facto waiting room for families to get into said Storybook dining venue. Still, it can be an enjoyable spot if you catch it at the right time.
Geyser Point: The best option at WL. While it's a weird QS/TS hybrid, it does have some tasty dishes and a wonderful view of the lake. There are limited tables, so either get there early for lunch or dinner, or be prepared to wait to be seated. If you don't mind ordering take out, you can do so then sit at one of the exterior tables/couches that are not serviced by waitstaff.

We just got home from Marathon Weekend, and stayed at CCV our first couple nights. This trip was also the first time we rented a car, and I think from now on we always will! When I told my husband the price for the entire trip, he thought it was the per day cost (granted we usually only rent cars in Hawaii). 😆

Thanks so much for this! Really helps for planning purposes.

When I stayed at Copper Creek (pre-Pandemic) and wanted to get a snack at the Contemporary, I Ubered rather than taking bus or boat to MK and getting to Contemporary from there. The reason: it was pouring rain and I would have gotten soaked when I got off the bus at MK.

I did not have a car. I am used to staying at Epcot area resorts, where it is easy to walk to other hotels. I was not a happy camper. I felt trapped at the hotel. I would not stay at Wilderness Lodge again without a car.

Edited to add: earlier in the Pandemic, you couldn't eat at Contempo Cafe at Contemporary unless you mobile ordered, and you couldn't mobile order unless you were staying at the hotel. Too many people were using Contempo Cafe as a way to get Uber to drop them off at Contemporary so they could walk to MK from there. I don't know if this is still the case, but now that I think about it, you might have trouble getting into Contemporary by car or by Uber these days unless you have an ADR for a table service restaurant. They were doing the same at Grand Floridian for awhile, not sure if that ended. If you are thinking about ADRs, this wouldn't be a problem. If, like me, you just wanted a cupcake and didn't like the option at Wilderness Lodge, you could have a problem.

Just an FYI - When we were staying at CC in December, we shared the Disney Springs bus with the Contemporary. It would stop at WL, then go to the Contemporary then head to DS. One night we had dinner at Steakhouse 71 and we ordered a Lyft to take us there and back. Later after we got back to our room, my son had the realization that we could have just hopped on the DS bus and gotten off at the Contemporary - doh :) !! Oh well.

I'm not sure if that is always the case (it wasn't when we were there in Oct - no sharing of busses), but it doesn't hurt to ask. Coming back you'd still have to go to DS before coming back to the Lodge. You just wouldn't have to get off at DS. Again, always ask the driver, to make sure they are going where you want.

I really just wish they would bring back the boat! We asked when we were there and they had no idea when it might return.
