Hi All,

My financee and I received a call yesterday from our wedding cordinator Bill. We are so excited! :woohoo: He confirmed us for our date and time (6/5/11 5pm) at the beach by the wedding pivilion. Bill sent us a big email with lots of information, and said we would touch base next week. That seems so far away and we have so many questions. On the timeline he sent us, it says that I'm supposed to brainstorm ideas on guest lists, reserving an officiant, modes of transportation, room blocks, and a whole load of other details. At some point on the timeline, it says to sign the letter of agreement and send a $2,000 deposit. Can anyone tell me how the whole Disney process and timeline works? I thought that maybe they'd send me the letter of agreement and request a deposit with that e-mail to get the ball rolling. What happens from now (first initial contact with Bill) until actually saving the date and time slot with a deposit and signed letter? There's nothing like a little confusion to spoil some of the excitement. If anyone could please clue me in, I'd be soooooooooooo thankful! :worship:

hang in there! we were "penciled in" in late-ish january for our 1-25-11 wishes wedding. we got tons of email stuff, even an "estimate" and we discussed with out coordinator. all the usual. its been till about very much the just slightly less than 8 month mark. then more emails and discussion and a wedding planner and send in the deposit.

its all really been fine, helpful, exactly as described in the contracts... but it FELT like forever!!! eek!!! hang in there, i know i was chomping at the bit to PLEASE LET US GIVE YOU MONEY!!! but that didn't hurry things up at all. everythings been smooth and on schedule. good luck!

oh, i guess i could also say that initially, there were a whole bunch of emails, with our coordinator being very helpful, and a couple long conversations culminating in a basic outline email that included an event proposal with some budget numbers on it. i've been told and fully expect that this is a way low-ball estimate. then, i've pestered my poor coordinator every so often about is it time? is it time?

it seems like that 4 ish month interim - depending on the time of your wedding and when you make contact - goes on forever. then when we were finally 8 months out - and mean like 8 months to 7 months and 3 weeks and 6 days, NOT 8 months 3 weeks and 6 days (ie, don't flip out like i did if you are in the 8 month and haven't recieved anything) - we recieved all the email stuff, a letter of agreement with questionnaires and how you can make your deposit. then its really rolling because its all website, STDs etc...

hang in there!

Thank you for the encouragement! When you wrote "PLEASE LET US GIVE YOU MONEY" I have to say we were thinking the same thing too!! :rotfl: I just want to hand them the dough to feel like it's all safe and secure and I don't have to worry anymore. But it sounds like there was a lot of planning, talking and working things over with your coordinator before you could finalize an agreement and send in the money. I guess I'll have to be more patient since we're just starting the process and it's still 343 days until the wedding. It's good to know that there are other Disney couples eager to take the plunge who are counting the seconds until the big day. :hyper:

oh man i hear you!!! thats why these boards are a life saver - you can channel some of your energy here! hang in there, i know it seems like some people some how end up on the front edge of the time frame, we were kind of right on the exact, to the letter dates, but they do come through and things do happen! then it suddenly seems like theres a house on fire to get things done!! with your date in the future you might have the new earlier time frames? plus go through the planning journals!! you'll see tons of folks doing the "hurry up! i'm too excited to sleep!" disney wedding dance!!
:goodvibes
