Just started my colonoscopy prep....

Anyone else doing this today by chance??? The last few colonoscopies I've had, the prep didn't start til 6-8pm the night before the procedure. I had to start off with 4 Dulcolax at noon today.....then start drinking the "stuff" at 4pm. They tell me this time the drink isn't too bad, an entire jug of Miralax mixed with 64 oz. of raspberry lemonade....but we'll see....at least it's not that thick milky stuff they used to give you!

I have one scheduled in 2 weeks and I have to drink my first dose at 8:00 am, a second at noon and a 3rd at 4:00 pm. Good thing it's on a Monday so I don't have to deal with the prep day at work.

Thankfully not today, but know the fun and joy of it all . Yes, the drink it much better now, still making it a fun 24 hrs . Good luck , and I send prayers for good resutls that puts an end to all your problems.

I just had my first one Tuesday. I had to stop eating raw fruits and veggies two days prior. The day before was a clear liquid diet. The night before I had to take four huge pills atarting at 6:00 p.m. for a total of twenty of them. The morning of I had to take the last twelve huge pills every 15 minutes three hours before I had to go to the hospital for a grand total of 32 huge pills, I have a real hard time taking pills so this wasn't an easy task.

jrsmom - I actually tried to find a doc to give me the pills but no one would. I have no problem taking pills, even large ones, but I do have a problem drinking 64oz. of foul tasting liquid! So far nothing from the 4 Dulcolax I took at noon....45 min. til drink time...I tried to eat a salty lunch in hopes that it would make me thirsty & actually want to drink.

I've been postponing a colonoscopy for months. I'm petrified of the prep, which I know is silly. Good luck...I hope everything comes out ok.

ROFL nothing yet but I don't feel so good. 64 oz. is A LOT of liquid. The Miralax does have an aftertaste, blech. But it's ten times better than that milky stuff you used to get. That made me throw up. I have almost 32 oz. in. I had to freeze the last glass to get it down, I can't think of drinking anything else right now. I feel like I want to throw up so I'm going to go lay down for an hour & see if that helps. I still have 32 oz. to go WAH!!!

I did the pills (all 32 of them!!). I actually thought it was a breeze.

My friend, who has had colon cancer, has had about 9 colonoscopies done with all different prep methods. She did the OsmoPrep pills this last time and said she'll never do any other method again--they were that GREAT!!

My advice-when he medicine starts working-listen to your body and don't think you can wait. Stay very near your bathroom.

Did one a few weeks back and the drink is definately . My doc said that I didn't get completely "cleaned out", so I'll have to da a two day prep next time. What does that entail?

Two day prep is the same as the one day prep - only you do it again the second day. Repeat, repeat, repeat...

I can barely get through this one. I just cannot get that last 1/3 of drink down. I gag just looking at it!
