We were at WDW 2 weeks ago and I've posted some things but haven't done a trip report since I am wordy and you all will go crosseyed if I start typing about everything. I figure I'll just post here and there about things when they enter my mind randomly now that I am starting to get over the shock of our vacation REALLY being over (all though I haven't put empty suitcases in the attic since I like opening my closet and seeing them - yes, I'm WDW addicted).

Soarin' - It is fabulous. Definitely get there right at opening OR grab a fastpass. I've never seen waits this long for standby line at any attraction before. Over 2 hours at one point and dh timed the ride and it was between 4 and 5 minutes long. Wish it was longer. I have a fear of heights and my dh and kids ribbed me while we were waiting to board (dd says she pictured me screaming for them to stop and put me down) but I LOVED it, it didn't bother me at all so I gave my family a big "nananana". :earboy2:

Fantasmic - We love this show and have seen it several times. Our friends hadn't seen it and loved it too. I know you will think I'm making this up but we have NEVER done the dining package and we have never had the horrible waits I have heard about. Since there was a 9 and 10:30 show I decided that we would do the latter since the early one would be more busy and we only waited in line about 12 minutes and there were PLENTY of seats. We opted to sit near the top in the middle so we could exit fairly quickly. This was my only "outburst" shall we say. A group of teens (late teens/maybe some early 20's) came in and sat in the row behind us. The one we didn't sit at since it was designated as handicapped. Now some of them behaved but there were a couple guys and one girl in particular who were so obnoxious. Now, I was a kid once too and liked to have fun so when they started their hijinks I remembered that. I would have NEVER acted like this though. They were using foul language, and then a song came on Someone will know the name, it escapes me- it's from a couple year's back and it says, "I need a little Monica in the sun, I need .....Erica having fun" Well they get up and start to dance and the obnoxious girl with short blonde hair starts dancing RIGHT behind our heads doing the Charleston and waving her arms and kicking, barely missing our heads. A little girl in front of us was turned around looking (they were making spectacles out of themselves) and said, "Mommy, are they on drugs?" Her mom whispered something and I whispered in my dh's ear, "if this girl hits me in the head she is GOING to need some." The girl was so excited since (as she exclaimed for everyone to hear) "HER name was ERICA and it's in the song! And she hadn't been drinking in a while and she was really getting the hang of it! Woohoo!" Yup that's what she said. The show begins and one of the males starts talking and laughing so loud we can't hear what the narrator is saying. He kept on and I tried to ignore but then I saw the look on dh's face and saw he was furious too. Then Mickey came out, and the young man started saying, "Whoa there's Mickey, quicky Mickey has a ....... My dh turned around a quarter of a second behind me so I got the "honors". I said in my best (or worst however you look at it) mom and teacher voice, "Would you PLEASE let others enjoy the show and SHUT UP!?" My dh later laughed because although we both expected some back talk and mouthing (which they probably did under their breath - I did feel daggers in back the rest of the show) not ONE of them said anything back. DH says I talked to him like his mom probably would and embarrassed him to the point of being speechless. I said to dh, "Remind me to tell the DIS board this so if any parents had teens in a group (with one named Erica) that went to the 10:30 Fantasmic show on Thursday, June 9th - and they read DIS they need to know how their kids acted. End of rant now. I'm a big girl - I've heard all the language before but there were TONS of children around.

I'm glad you said something to those kids. I probably would have said something too. Good for you! ::yes::

Thanks for your quick report.

I am so excited about doing soaring! I think I am going to love it!

Also, as many times as I have been, I have never done fantasmic. This is my number 1 thing to do this time around. I will not miss it.

Thanks again.

Praying my kids never act like that when they grow up!

The song is Mambo number 5.......My name is Mary, and I am mentioned in the song also.....But it didn't excite me as much as Erica...But I am 39.
I am also very glad you shut the rude kids up.

Yep, nothing wrong with acting silly, but when the language starts in front of my kids, that's when I end it, quickly. That's such a special show too! Don't want to miss a minute of it!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Fantasmic!!!!!!!!

I would have said something too! Not because of the kids but thats my FAVORITE SHOW.....LOL!

I would of soooo said something. The language drives me nuts. I do remember in 6th grade how it was the cool thing to do (curse). I tried it and was not very good at it, so now i really don't curse because my sister and dh make fun of me. They do need to have common sense if there are kids around don't curse.

Oh I just got back from the movies and there was a boy(10?) who kept kicking my seat. I only gave them a look!!

I will be in the World on sunday and can not wait to do Soarin!!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

That's the song Mary! Lol. We almost were "Mamboed" in the head. :headache: Thanks for your all your nice remarks. I honestly cannot think of another time I have actually told anyone to shut up. It just came out. I just figured that if they were old enough to brag about their drinking that they were more than old enough to be quiet during a show like that with lots of little kids around. Making comments, sure but not drowning out the show with profanities. The show was as awesome as ever though.

Lagunaseca, the mom and teacher comment gave me a chuckle. I am also a teacher (kindegarten) and I think I have a lot of patience and tolerance. We were at my DD dance recital last week and I nearly lost my cool with a boy sitting behind me. First of all, he was about 7 yrs old and sitting on his mom's lap, so he was very close to my head. He was saying the most rudest comments I ever heard and he was loud. At one point in between acts he shouted, "I gotta fart". My son who is 8 looked behind us and then he turned to me and whispered, "My god, someone needs to teach that kid some manners". I was glad that he whispered to me, but I kind of wished that he would have said it loud enough for his parents to hear. His parents never told him once to be quiet. In fact, they chuckled at everything he said which I feel encouraged him more. I did turn around about three times and said, "SHH", but it didn't help. I finally asked him to be quiet so that I could enjoy the show. I was glad when they left halfway through the second half!!!!

LOL. Do you ever go home and talk to your family in your "teacher voice" (either the very clear, sweet one, or the very clear not so sweet one - you know what I mean.) without knowing it? My dh teases me about it. A couple weeks ago we got on the bus from MGM to Epcot and there was a little girl who sat next to me in the very back and her family was in the front so to reassure her I just started chatting and we had quite a conversation. My friends turned around and smiled a couple times, my son gave me a dirty look. Jealous? :confused3 and when we got off the bus we knew all about each other and I knew all her favorite rides and shows. My dh called me Mary Poppins all night. I was not very Mary Poppins like to those teens but Mary would not have approved of their behavior. :teeth:

Mary would have said, "Front and center, spit spot, and no sugar for this spoonful of soap going down."

I owuld have done the samething! :flower:
Wondering if you were down there during SENIOR WEEK?
Heard it was wild down there then!
