Ok, so I know Dolphins are known for their kind spirit and good nature, and high intelligence. Having said that, for some reason, the thought of swimming with them terriifies me!! I booked a DC package with Dolphin swin for upcoming honeymoon, and am freaking out, plus know I have some knowledge of "The Cove", and that is bugging me. Can somebody tell me I am not alone in this thinking??

I'd guess that your patronage of DC would help fund continuing education efforts which could lead to ending such practices as in The Cove.

Look at it that way! And think of them as big dogs.

funding Discovery Cove/Seaworld is only continuing the practice of containing animals in places they should not be contained in, it just funds the abuse, it does not educate in an effort to ending it, it does the opposite.

also, dolphins are not big dogs.

I did not choose to ignore any part of your statement. I don't understand why you think going to Seaworld/supporting Seaworld will help stop the slaughter of Dolphins/sale of them at 150,000 each, taking them out of their natural habitat, making them ill due to the stress of performing, etc.

Mine are not accusations, they are fact. Since you never watched "The Cove" then why are you making uneducated comments to the OP in this thread as she is looking for valid advice not just opinions.

Also, I just retired, I was a Professor and can work Adjunct if I would like to return. It is not a good idea to jump in to a conversation without supporting what you are stating.

as for being afraid of the dolphins, you are correct, they are high spirited, intelligent animals. But with seaworld/discovery cove being a large company, they'll never do anything they don't think they'll get sued for; ie...they're not going to put their guests in harms way if they can help it. just relax, and enjoy it your time spent there, it is once in a lifetime opportunity to get to hang out with a dolphin.
