ok, so as unlikely as it is for a return visit this year for me is...I am hopeful in planning a trip in the fall. I read about the pins and I finally decided to call. I spoke with a very nice cm. After telling him about how I was trying to determine if a trip was even possible and was curious if I had any discounts or pins available to me, he said fall promos have not been released yet. (lol, duh, right?) I mention we were there not that long ago and I was more interested in a pin that might have been issued to me personally that I might have missed in my email or such. He was kind enough to check. He said I didn't have anything at this time and he thanked me for giving him all my info and said I should check my email over the next few days. What he said next even made me crazier than the "check my email". comment. LOL!!! He finished by saying he would not be surprised if I found something "very nice" in my email.


Good grief....just something to make me crazier in my wishful Disney planning.

As for the nice letter head...OMG!!! I got an email from Disney Destinations after we got back from our trip a couple months ago... thought it might be an offer...but it was for a screen saver. sigh...it was so exciting.

I called tonight and spoke with a very nice CM. I was making a reservation for October and I asked if there were any discounts, etc. She said no they have not released the fall promotions but to keep checking the mail, TV, etc.

I pretended to be curious and said that I know in the past I have received offers via email and I wanted to know if there may have been anything there. She said no, but that doesn't mean I couldn't call back to check. She specially said about 3 months before my trip.

I thought that was weird and I was quite bummed! We usually go in Sept. but can't this year due to my husband's job, so now we have no free dining, no discount, flights are higher, and now the nightly hotel rate is higher also as it is regular season!

I am starting to feel this trip is not going to be in the cards for us unless we get some major pixie dust!

Just hang in there! I did the whole website itinerary thing and I got one of those emails . . . no pin just a "hey, here's what you could book!", I did nothing and literally about 45 minutes later I got a pin email!

Well, something nice showed up today. I finally am the proud recipient of a pin code. I think FD would be better, but I got a 20/30/40. I know it is nothing to shake a stick at. Still, it kinda makes me laugh..... "something very nice" I appreciate it, but after already taking a trip this year a discount would have to be a bit better than that in order for me to jump on it. It does have dates through December though....

To be honest, this could be due to my using the other trick that people on these boards have suggested. I put together an itinerary, and added I would be staying off site....

As for what I said to the cm...

I told him I was trying to determine if a trip was even possible for us in the fall and was curious if I had any discounts available to me. Once he gave me the "the fall promos haven't been released" I just mentioned, that we had stayed recently, never saw a bounce back offer and so I wasn't sure if I had just missed a PERSONAL discount/pin or such. He nicely checked said nothing was associated with my name, but that I should check my email in a few days. Sure enough...few days later and there it is.

I tried the "trick" as well and triggered nothing, but was already booked for ASMFS. I called and did a similar speal to the CM "I'm really interested in a deluxe but have been waiting for a room discount pin and never seem to get one, so I just need to update my current reservation for today" and the CM was all over looking to see what he could do and all of a sudden had a room discount attached to my name. I had been calling every week up until then with no luck, but this time managed to get lucky. I still have never seen a pin email, nor has anything come snail mail, so I say it's worth calling, and re calling every so often, especially if your planning to go anyhow.

I got the 20/30/40 pin a few weeks back but can't use it since there are no 2 bedroom villas at the Boardwalk available for the pin code. We will stick to the 20% with AAA at this point. If free dining is offered I will reprice the trip to see if it saves us anything but last year we would have had to switch villa resorts and it wouldn't have saved any money because rack rate for the 2 bedroom is so high. We made out better with the room discount.
