Just got back from a special screening of Tangled in 3D at the local cinema...verdict from all the family - excellent!

The movie looks beautiful, the characters are fun and memorable, and Rapunzel herself is a modern princess that sits very comfortably with the likes of Belle or Ariel. DD(6) sat with eyes glued to the screen for the whole time, and is now humming the songs from the movie (which were also great - Alan Menken to thank for them, I think).

DS(7) is not admitting it :) but he too seemed to enjoy himself throughout, and the Flynn Rider character is very good at making it a film for both boys and girls.

DW and I both loved it - best Disney film we've seen for ages! Think it's on general release end of January - recommend you see it.

Finally a question - DD obviously now wants to meet Rapunzel in the parks when we go in May. Does anyone know if there is a meet and greet with her at the moment, or planned?

Paul

Wow cheers Peebee althought think we will still stick with mother daugher outing to cinema.
Rapunzel and her prince were indedd out last month in the parks ( the film was released in USA while we were there!!)
I am sure we saw them twice in agic Kingdom but we didnt stop to say Hi as Keia hadnt seen the film.
For definate they were walking about by the meet for Princess Tiana on our mvmcp night!!

Hope that helps xxx

Brilliant, thanks Louise. Emma has been asking on and off about her for the last 2 hours now!

My sister and I (both over 40!) went to see a special preview of Tangled 3D today and loved it too!

Great animation, effects, characters and the some of the humour was definitely targeted at the adults.

Highly recommended!

Haven't heard one bad review for this movie so far! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to check it out soon :)

Here we go then...
I thought it was awful!! None of the characters grabbed me at all, the story was as by number as it gets and the songs were unmemorable!
My biggest criticism is that it was a film that could easily have been made by one of the 'lesser' animation studios such as Sony.

After a great return to form with Princess and the Frog this was such a let down :(

I'm sure I'll be in the minority (on here) with this view but that's how I saw it!

:goodvibes

They have a "play and greet" in the Fairytale gardens by the castle - GO EARLY.

There are a couple threads, ere is a link to one:http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2618688

We did this but the timing worked out for us to hit the first show - lines were long later in the day. We didn't want to do the "play" part, so were part or the group let in after the little kids finished the first part.

Will try and add a few pictures shortly.

Crikey! :scared1:

I am going to see it on Sunday - I am really looking forward to it. :)

In all honesty, I think Pixar films have set the bar really high now, and for the past few years, Princess and the Frog aside, Disney's own animation films have been pretty poor (although I actually did enjoy Bolt).

As I say though, I'm sure my views on it will be in a minority here so hopefully people enjoy it but for me it was all a bit "meh" :(

I really enjoyed it, we saw it on our disney cruise before Christmas. Much preferred it to the Princess and Frog, which I thought was good was a little slow in parts.

Mine you we saw Tron yesterday and I loved that - and the reviews havent been great

Went to see Tangled earlier this evening and we LOVED it. A little boy sitting next to DD9 was laughing so much, very cute.
DD's talked about film non-stop since. We definately want to see it again
Not sure I could manage to watch a feature length film in 3D without feeling queasy, so we watched it in 2D.

we all LOVED it!!!

DD (age 26) and her fiance and DS (age 23) and his wife had already seen it, but wanted to take us so we all went 2 weeks ago....(truth is, they really wanted to see it a second time, so i think we were just a good excuse)...

i thought it was fantastic....the scene with the lights absolutely brought me to tears...the entire movie is beautiful and the characters adorbable..

by the way, we saw it in 3D....can't imagine seeing it any other way...

Really enjoyed it, took DD yesterday :rotfl2:

Only one thing I thought oh dear at was near end when she stabbed him, just thought a little gruesome.

Would see again defo.

Next it's gnomeo n julliet :thumbsup2

This could have been written by me!! :rotfl:

I loved Princess and the frog :lovestruc but found Tangled to be a bit boring :confused3 I dont remember any of the songs from the film and got fidgety and bored about 30-40 mins in :sad2: although it takes a LOT to keep me sitting still, concentrating and watching a film popcorn:: :lmao: but Disney managed it with patf :wizard: but not with Tangled :guilty:

I'm seeing it tonight in 3D with my DBF for our date night... I'm very excited! I think he is too - I made sure he didn't want to watch anything else, but he kept saying "But I know you want to see Tangled!" :goodvibes

I saw it last night and I loved it. The film looks beautiful and it's really sweet and funny. It's quite emotional in parts and I have to admit I shed a tear or two. ;) :cloud9:
