I forgot it was going up this morning but could feel my windows shaking a bit, looked out and there it was. Amazing sight in the dark.

Very nice!!!!!!!! It has to be an amazing/moving experience to see it.

My niece lives in Meritt Island and she watched it go up. I've never seen a launch though

DD lives in St. Cloud and said she also heard and felt it go up. The view from due west of Okeechobee on the west coast was also awesome.

Im over by UCF and felt the vibration...I didnt know what it was at first and got a little startled...but I went outside and got to see the bright spot where it disappeared ... that was gorgeous!

I'm at UCF and felt my apartment shake, so cool! I've seen them from over here before, but never up close. I'm hoping to get over there to see one before the program ends :sad2:

It looked great from in front of my house. I'm usually not up that early, but I just heppened to gaze over at the clock and decided to get up. I was back in bed by 6:25 and slept until 10:00 so I'm glad I got up.

We watched if from our back yard -- my DH also went out 20 minutes or so early to see the space station go over, so that was a bonus. Beautiful when the sun started hitting the smoke trail! :thumbsup2

We saw it once from the balcony outside California Grill at The Contemporary, standing several feet from Julie Andrews. :) Awesome, on both counts!

Wow! That's really cool! We watched it from our front yard. Have some out of town family visiting over spring break. No one else wanted to get up early to make the two hour cross state drive to see it up close :(

now you guys tell me...

I've had it on my mind for the past couple of weeks, and of course completly forgot about it the day of.

I've watched many shuttle launches over the past few years. This was the first time I felt the house shake. It woke my dogs. They started barking like crazy. Wonder why this one was different.

It was totally awesome. I teach very close to the launch site, and decided to get up early and drive up there. I was nervous I wouldn't find a good spot, but I drove along us1 and found a park with a bunch of cars...so I pulled in and got out...and we were literally straight across the water from the vehicle assem. building and the shuttle. it was AMAZING! it was the closest i have ever seen, and you could even see the shuttle pushing the air...sort of forming a tear drop/ bubble around the shuttle. soooo cool.

also, apparently the reason you all could hear the shuttle so loud was because one of their sound buffering (there's another word for it, i can't think of it now) systems failed. everyone was saying it was REALLY loud! i was probably less than 15 miles away...and yeah...it was LOUD! :scared1::laughing:

and now...i'm going to sleep! 5:00 am was early!!!
