I actually completely missed the missing coin / apple theory. I am stupid in that sense. That's why to this day I still dont' exactly understand Star War or LOTR plot (completely side-tracked by Harrison Ford / Orlando Bloom / Johnny Depp).

I asked about the scene after the credits in this thread on Rumors and News. The answer is on page 2.

Personally, I think this is part of what makes POTC such a cool movie! Not only did it have a great story and great acting and was just a downright fun movie, but there are so many intricate details to notice and look for that makes repeated viewings enjoyable and worth it.

BTW, Rajah, could you please PM me the hidden Mickeys? Thanks.
