Just saw Napolean Dynamite

He's just this pitiful nerd and you can't help but feel sorry for him and when you see him do his dance at the end he is adorable.

My 12yo ds and I *love* this movie. When dh (who absolutely DOES NOT get it) was trading in his horrible "Kill Bill" movies at Blockbuster, we convinced him to get us Napoleon Dynamite. :) We think it gets funnier every time we watch it. I laugh for like 20 minutes after it's over. ;)

I think the best part of the movie is the end, where you see all these people who most would consider "losers" just happily living their lives. It's sweet.

DH got it through Netflix and thank goodness he did. If he would have rented it at the video store, I would have hurt him! LOL!!! Just seeing the previews on tv was bad enough for me.

Well, DH watched 5 minutes of it and had to turn it off. He just couldn't take it any longer.

Count my vote as LOVING IT..........

The 10 year old girls wanted to see it last night at a sleepover. It was the second time I have seen it, and I have to agree with those who say it grows on you the more you watch it. I liked it a little better the second time. It does have its moments.

Who told you good things about it? I think I've heard 2 people over the age of 17 say they thought it was really good. I thought there were some funny lines, but overall just didn't like it.

Make that 3 people...I'm 30 and I loved this movie, LOL! My DH and my sis say that that's 90 minutes of their lives that they'll never get back, though :rotfl:

Alright, since everyone is saying you have to watch it twice, I'll give it another shot. It might be painful, but I will give it a try.

We love Napoleon here in our household. We had a Napoleon themed Birthday party for our DD. It's true that you have to see it at least twice to actually appreciate the movie.

Here is a pic of Sarah with the cardboard stand-up of Napoleon that I had to make myself because they are nowhere to be found:

I was so surprised that they don't make a NP stand-up. :confused3
What I did was to go into the FYE store and bought a Santa Claus cardboard stand-up that was on clearance and then I went to Spencers and bought a Door poster to make my own. It's not quite the same, but the next best thing. :teeth:
We also had posters, buttons (vote for Pedro, Skills, Liger, etc....), T-shirts. :teeth:
I wore a t-shirt with a pic of Kip on it that said "Don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with Babes all day" :teeth:
Oh.... and of course.... we served Tater Tots or "TOTS" as Napoleon calls them.

GOSH!!! I wanna have a party like this one!!! :rotfl2:

Did you miss the wedding? It's the best part?

Hehe, I liked it. I thought the girlfriend from the internet was the funniest. I agree it was a bit slow, but I still thought it was funny.

I guess I'm kind of cool, but I'm not one of those kind of "cool moms" that lets their teens do whatever they want and doesn't step in as the authority figure when it is needed. ;) I'm not afraid to lay down the rules.

No, gotta watch after the credits. :teeth:
You're right..... The wedding would actually be the end of the movie, not the dance.

LOVE IT!!! Our whole family loves this quirky little movie! The music, the lines, the details... We're not big movie watchers, but we actually bought it after renting it twice. It's def. not for everyone, but if you appreciate the offbeat, watch it!
pw2pp- Sweet! You've got birthday party skills!

We watched it last weekend at my sisters. Everyone loved it except for my 43yo DH, he didn't get it. Some of those lines were hilarious!

I thought it was great! I think I'll have to rent it again because I missed the wedding after the credits and DH didn't get to watch it at all.

Napoleon = :love:

hehe I love this movie! As soon as I saw it at the theater I couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD so I could buy it. And then I made my family watch it and luckily they all loved it too. We quote it all the time. It's great! :teeth:
