All I have to say is...wow.

What a wonderful show.

So, I've done 5 Disney on Broadway shows (MP, Lion King, Mermaid, Tarzan, & Beauty & the Beast). I'd say Lion King & Poppins are 5 stars, and the others... let's say they're less than 5.

So, what's next? Heard a rumor via another podcast that Hunchback may come to B'way in the future. (It was a show in Germany.)

We shall see.

But if you are coming into NYC, and you want to catch a Disney show, you can't go wrong with the King or Mary.

I'm glad you had a great time! I'm hoping to see Mary Poppins when she flies into Ft Lauderdale next year.

Thanks Chad. I've been wanting to take the family to a Disney on Broadway show for a while. I wanted to go to the Little Mermaid just because it is DD11's favorite. I know Little Mermaid didn't get good reviews, and I don't think we'll be able to make it before it closes anyhow. However, I'm encouraged to hear that you think Mary Poppins is so good. Maybe we can make it for that one.

I saw Mary Poppins here in Chicago and it was amazing. I just wish I had chosen a little better seats. There were certain elements of the show that we could not see due to our seat location.

Also, I loved the Broadway Mary a little better than the Disney Mary. The Broadway Mary is a bit more "sassy" shall we say and just a smidge "diva". Gotta love it! :lovestruc

I agree, I saw it a while back and it was great. We had severe nose bleed seats but Mary flew right in front of us which was really cool. I would recommend it as well.

My mom, sister and I just saw Mary Poppins Saturday night, the touring company at Playhouse Square in Cleveland. Somehow my sister got us tickets in the 2nd row! I thought it was really good, but I have to admit, I didn't like the statues that came to life in the park. I missed the dancing penquins and the statues were a tad creepy IMHO. Other than that, I loved it. I loved Ashley Brown (she played Mary) and Bert was awesome!

My favorite Disney show though is Beauty and the Beast. I saw it 3 times. I thought I had heard a rumor that they might do Aladdin on Broadway, but that was awhile ago.

I cannot wait- she'll be here in Sept for Dallas Summer Musicals. My mom got us season tickets this year and Mary Poppins is the one I am waiting for of course.....we've seen Wizard of Oz, Mama Mia next week (second time), Chorus Line etc. Nothing is going to compare to Mary though! Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

I would LOVE if they did hunchback next, I adore the music from it. My CP roomie worked as a gypsy in the stage show at the Studios before they pulled it. Great show, I only imagine what they could do on broadway with it.

Take my advice - stop by Broadwaybox.com first. They have discount codes. I got Orchestra center, Row K for $70 (usually $121).

Little Mermaid was fine - just some disturbing, glaring weaknesses. Love the soundtrack.

DH and I saw "Mary Poppins" on Broadway in April and loved it! Our only drawback was that we went to a Wednesday matinee and there were tons of school kids there (probably on a field trip) and they were very disruptive, which kind of ruined it a bit.

I've heard that "Little Mermaid" was going to tour. I'm hoping this is true and that they make a stop in Seattle! :goodvibes

I saw Mary P twice this year - once for my niece's birthday and again for the D23 event!

Both times were great, but the D23 event, I was in orchestra section and them we got to meet Mary & Bert. It was fantastic!! :goodvibes

Isn't the Disney music exhibit from the Experience Music Project there in Ft Lauderdale now?

I just got a ticket to see Mary Poppins in Cincinnati (April 2010). I originally read that Ashley Brown was under contract to tour through Feb. 2010. I think this was before they extended the tour until Oct. 2010 though. Does anyone know if Ashley Brown and Gavin Lee are sticking with the tour through the new dates?

I totally agree. We went in March for DD's 7th B-day. We loved the
"Nanny - off" between Mary and the bad nanny! We had a problem seeing a few things too but it was terriffic!!!

Mary Poppins is totally the next Broadway show I want to see! I can just imagine how awesome the Step in Time number would be... what did you think of this part? Did they do the awesome part of the movie justice?

We saw Mary Poppins on Broadway yesterday - it was fantastic! From what I understand, this was a rather new "Mary" - but she was wonderful! The dancing, the sets - everything was amazing and I can't recommend this show highly enough!

We don't live in NYC - we had to drive up for the day - totally worth it!

I have to mention - we did see "Pooh" and "Tigger" on the sidewalk (somewhere along 39th street). Well - some strange incarnation of Pooh (with a backward H) and Tigger. Holding bags for tips. Keep moving, kids...
