Just saw a clip on the news...

If you watch the video closely the woman who yells and then pushes Pluto off the sidewalk is video taping the whole thing. After Pluto gets up it looks like she begins filming again. If you really thought Pluto was attacking your child, would your main concern really be filming it.....I would think I would put the camera down and stop Pluto. HMMM unless...

I know it's off topic but as per the taser incident:
The kid was being a smartass and removing him was justifiable. But the police tasered him while he was on the ground and allegedly already handcuffed. No need for a taser at that point as he poses no threat.

Wrong! I work in law enforcement and I can tell you just because they are in handcuffs, doesn't mean they have stopped resisting or fighting. How would you like to be hit by someone that is flailing around with METAL hand cuffs on their wrists. In fact, they just had an article on MSN.com about a man with no arms who head butted someone and killed them. So, as you can see, just because they are handcuffed doesn't mean they are compliant.

cxcelica, I noticed the videotaping "mom" too. Almost appears that she was trying to hard to get something on tape. I didn't think it looked like the kid was in any danger or feeling threatened at any time. Wonder if this one will end up in a courtroom? I sure hope not.

I may not have worked in law enforcement like yourself but I have family members who have. Regardless, you don't have to have experience in the field to know when an authority figure has overstepped his bounds. Yes, people can still be threatening while in handcuffs. But it is the responsibility of the officer(s) to guage each situation individually. Clearly, there was plenty of backup, the kid was cuffed face-down on the floor and wasn't flailing about.
What did cops do before tasers were available?
And in response to your article reference, I saw an article on drudge yesteray where a woman was tasered and died as a result. So it can swing both ways.

Sorry for getting off topic guys!

Take another look at the video.

Yes, the lady does grab Pluto, but I'm not sure she pushed.

It looks to me that Pluto turns and lost track of where the curb is -- it looks like his foot misses the curb and he loses his balance and falls. JMHO

I used to - at the Zoo here in San Antonio. I was a Koala. I was hit, kicked, pinched, dragged, pushed, pulled, and bitten. Kid had to do something to set him off. If the kid was innocent - he would have run straight to mom - not around the flower bed like he did.

The guy in the pluto suit had to be hurt pretty bad to be set off like that - every cast member knows it's their job if they are doing anything like that - so it must have been pretty bad to make him run like that.

Exactly. Doesn't appear that the woman "pushed' Pluto. He simply missed the curb and went down. And if I'm not mistaken, isn't the woman smiling, if not laughing?
