We just got back. I'm unclear as to why there were so many posts about the RP rooms being so "small" - I stayed at the Hard Rock Last year and even if the rooms actually measure smaller it certainly didn't seem to me that there was any difference at all. They are layed out practically the same. Very plush drapes, bathroom, very comfortable bed (just like Hard Rock). If there are differences, I didn't notice it.

Cabanas are small, but ok . What I didn't like about the cabanas at the pool was that 2 of the 3 don't face the pool at all- they face hot tubs. They still had ceiling fans, TV (why does the TV face the outside of the cabana- would make it hard to see from your lounge chair - but I guess you could see it from the hot tub.)

Food prices at Universal and Disney are over the top - we averaged $40.00 - $70.00 per meal. Even counter services was steep for a family of 4. (2 adults and 2 children). Take your own drinks!!!! you will same about $10.00 right there. and consider sharing a meal if you are a light eater.

No one flame me, but I thought Mythos was overrated. Maybe it was a bad day, but the environment was "just ok" , our server nice, but my meal was a little "tough" and nothing to write home about. Perhaps it would have been better if we ate at a less expensive place and saved Mythos for a nice dessert and coffee.

I'm glad to hear you liked the RPH! I can't wait to stay there!!

I was wondering, if you drove, could you answer some questions for me? Did you find parking to be a hassle? What did you think about parking there? :D

Puffy2, I'm happy to hear that the RP beds are soft like at HR!

We didn't drive (Happy Limo took us everywhere with the most beautiful limos and town cars ! Always on time, very nice). I'm sorry I can't answer the parking questions for you.

I had an entertainment card rate and when I checked in I pulled out my Lowes Fiirst Card and placed it on the check in desk with my entertainment card. We got the Milk and Cookies for being a Loews First Member even though it was an entertaiment rate. No gift for the kids though ( I forgot to ask about it too) - I think it is just a pale and shovel for the pool area. We didn't really need that.

Beautiful hotel. Took the shuttle boat to City Walk most days (it's easier on the feet than walking).

Margaritaville had guys on stilts making balloon animals and hats for the kids, that was a nice touch.

Breakfast at Pastamore was decent (not the greatest , but decent) and a good value considering the high costs at the hotels.

Glad you had a nice time. Thanks for letting us know!! We loved the atmosphere at Mythos but dh isn't nuts about the food. I love the place though. I hope you made it to the Banana Gooey cake!

Welcome back and thanks for the report on the Royal Pacific rooms, Puffy! I was a little concerned about that myself.

Sorry you didn't enjoy MYTHOS. After all the great reports on the board I guess you must've expected to be blown away! I was because I didn't expect to be! And as with all restaurants, it always depends on what you order that can make or break it.

Bring your own drinks? I couldn't agree more! I stash my bag with Capri suns for thirst breaks or find a water fountain!

Robin, I agree about expectations. We went to Medieval Times Dinner Theater too and I wasn't expecting it to be all that great but it ended up being a highlight of our trip (the food is rather poor except for the Chicken) but the show and the rest of the stuff to see made for a good time by all.

When we go to USF and IOA, we always get one of the many different refillable mugs. We've got MIB, Popeye and another one that are all fairly large. I think we paid between $5 and 7 for the "mug" and then it is only a couple of dollars for the refills. We usually get one and split it between the 3 of us. That is something I really like that is different from WDW.
