Just returned last night, my parents bought!

We took a long weekend trip to AKL and just returned last night. My parents met us there (they drove, we flew). She had asked my husband on our first day there about the backpack he was carrying and I told her she could spend a minimum of 11,500 and she too could be the proud owner of one of those backpacks. While two mornings later she called me from the boardwalk (she had just had breakfast at Cape May Cafe) and told me she had an appointment with our guide. She ended up signing up for 250 points at BCV. This was only the 2nd time my mother had been out of the state of Michigan. The first time was last October when she came with us to WDW and we stayed at Beach Club. She really fell in love with the place (either that or she really wanted one of those backpacks).

Terry, how was your trip- What's your impression of AKL and BCV?

We had the same thing happen last year. We were owners at VWL, and took my mil and her dh to OKW for a week. We got there on a Saturday and by Wednesday they were signing the papers.

They are VERY anxious to go on their first trip home in a week! We leave THIS SATURDAY!!!!

Karen, I wrote a little update on BCV on the Anyone get a chance to Snoop around BCV thread. As far as AKL goes, I loved being able to get up in the AM and look outside at the animals. The service was excellent and the resort itself was beautiful definatly done in the Disney style. It just wasn't for me! The decor and lighting were just too dark for my taste. I like bright colors like at the BC (go figure). If you don't mind the dark woods and dark colors you would probably love it. (All except the transportion which the only way you can get anywhere is by bus, I love being able to walk to 2 parks like at BC)

I can't believe it. I think your family is going to have a lot of happy memories. We have been WDW vacationing with my mom and sister (she is disabled) for several years, and I think they are getting hooked (my sister asks if we are going back to OZ, I think she remembers "The Great Movie Ride"). My Dad is a real wet blanket so he will be staying home for our June VWL trip. We just did another add-on as we believe they may be traveling with us periodically and we'll need the 2 BR option.

We won't get to stay at BCV until Jan 2003, but we plan on snooping while there during our June trip.

Thanks for all the welcome homes for my mom, I will pass them along to her, since she is not very internet/computer savy.

They took the $5 off incentive and were lucky to get in before it ended. They are already thinking add-on.

Unfortunatly Michigan does not allow any type of referal bonus. My guide did say I would get a nice thank you letter.

Congrats but you could have purchased the Backpack for your mom from DVC for a think $40.

Actually sgtpet, I have two, I could have just given her one, but this way she won't be using my points now and this will force her to take a vacation that she might otherwise not be able to, my kids love having Grandma and Grandpa on vacation with them.

Wish I could get my folks to go with us I know they would buy. They have two Marriott timeshares so they constantly get the "offers" to see other properties. They just were in Panama City, FL. "just to play golf." Yeah right - they bought there too! Oh well, Marriott is deeded so I guess some day my sister and I will enjoy many years of trips to Hawaii, HH, and FL.
