Just returned from WDW and FP+ stinks

That's my point. Absolutely, I'm sure there are a bunch of places you can get into tonight, or any night this week. It's slow season. During busy season, I just don't think it's that simple.

I was there in Dec.xmas week. We were able to book dining on same day a few times. No it wasn't chef Mickey s but we had a number of options. With the credit card requirement less adr's being made mean more open spots.

Perhaps you missed the first part of my post: "While that may certainly be true".

I am not disagreeing, nor am I trying to incite an argument. Not even sure where I indicated that her(?) position was any less valid than mine. I simply offered a counterpoint based on Disney's actions and lack of actions

Your post, on the other hand, is entirely focused on me for some reason with not a single mention or reference to the actual points of discussion.

Strange.

I was talking about the FP+ system and various predictions people including you have made throughout this time that included multiple people on the DIS, as there are still many differing opinions/speculations about possible changes and "tweaks" that may come to the FP+ system in the future.

As long as Disney calls this a "test", it means that the FP+ system is not finalized as of yet. And even after they no longer call it a test, they may still make changes. You know, like the change they made to the old FP- system when they allowed people to return beyond the time window printed at the ticket.

And Disney's actions can be interpreted in various ways as I was pointing out.

I only focused on you specifically in talking about how interesting it will be to revisit your many speculations in the future as I look forward to that.

I don't disagree that it's still a test. Disney continues to refer to it as a test with selected guests. If changes are coming, what is disappointing is how slow they are to implement any changes to the basic components that I think most people agree on one or more of (3 FP's, one park, one time per attraction, tiers).

If nobody were complaining (or not enough in Disney's view), it might not be a consideration and could explain why those components haven't changed in over half a year. That doesn't sound like the case, though, with CM's on the phone, in emails, and in the parks acknowledging that they hear those complaints a lot.

So if a company is getting a considerable amount of complaints and possibly bad press because there is only "3" of something they offer, I'm not sure why it would take half a year to increase it to "4", all the while suffering the damage to brand equity and risking the continued possibility of negative or less-than satisfying experiences for hundreds of thousands of guests.

Are they that slow to pay attention that the question is just now even appearing in surveys? I'd like to think Disney is more attuned than that.

If the rumors of the FP+ lines being slow are true, then kicking it up to four per person right now would just make the situation worse. If the rumors are true and the primary cause is getting the whole system implemented, theoretically they might add more after they've got some bugs worked out. If the rumors are true and the primary cause is more people are using FP+ than used FP-, the limit of three is going to last quite some time.

Disney has to have known some people would get wound about all these new limits -- if they didn't predict it during initial planning, they could hardly miss it when they started enforcing the FP- return time, since people were none too thrilled about that. Besides, people generally do get upset when they feel they're losing a perk, it's a standard consideration when corporations plan to change things, so I can't believe Disney didn't expect it with at least one of your four, and probably most of them. But did they expect the backlash they're getting, more of one, or less of one?

I'm starting to think this FP+ isn't a good idea. We like to go to a Disney stay about 10 days with a Hopper pass. I got to thinking the FP+ doesn't really work well with a Hopper. So I can save some money and while Im saving money, maybe I will just buy a 7 day ticket instead of 10.

I can take that money and visit Universal.

I personally found that the ability to park hop worked wonderfully well with FP+.

We went to the recommended park in the morning and saved our FP+ for a busier afternoon park (where there was usually evening entertainment, that was drawing people to the park, or extra magic hours).

For example: One day we had all the benefits of rope drop at Epcot where we rode both Soarin' (first) and Test Track (twice in the single rider line, waits of about 10 - 15 minutes). We enjoyed some downtime at our resort in the afternoon, and then went strolling into Hollywood Studios on a crowded evening and walked right onto Toy Story Mania without a wait! Follow that up with a ride on the Tower of Terror, and a showing of Fantasmic. It was awesome!

Oh, and the crowd levels on that [articular day were 7 (according to EasyWDW) and Hollywood Studios was not recommended.

I think park hoppers add a lot of value to FP+, at least for our style of touring.

(For the record, though, don't waste your FP+ on Fantasmic! That was a minor miscalculation on my part. Star Tours might be a better choice... although we did still get to ride that one three times later in the evening.)
