Just returned from Saratoga. It was our first DVC stay. We stayed twice last year at the BW as non-DVC members and we were concerned as we thought we might be treated differently from check-in to check-out. Our concerns were based in some of the posts we read. We were not treated differently in any way, shape or form.

I was slighting disappointed in the transportation. We counted on an hour to transport from the resort to any of the parks or to get from park to park if we used the bus system. If we drove then we could easily get to the parks in 20ish minutes. Our conclusion was that IF you are gonna use the buses then DO NOT get in a HURRY.

We are DVC member thru BW. I am very glad we have the ability to chose the BW at the 11 month mark. We will most likely stay there if possible. Our trip to Saratoga was a short notice trip but if given the time...we will chose BW as it is walking distance from EPCOT. We discussed the many different resorts and came to the realization the comment "buy where you want to stay" is soooooooooooooo true.

My compliments to Disney and the staff. Everyone was very helpful, pleasant and really generally nice.

Glad you enjoyed your first trip as DVC members. Thanks for the report :)

We stayed last week at SSR thru Monday and found the bus service reasonable with usually no more than 10-15 min wait with the exception of bus service to MGM. It took about 20 min.

Thanks for sharing :)

Glad you had a good trip.

thanks for the info we are going to our home resrt for the very 1st time in nov and are looking forward to it!!

I'm curious about the driving. I've read that a lot of people use their vehicles when staying at SSR instead of walking (to food court) or busing (to parks.) I like being able to leave my vehicle sit from the time I arrive to the time I leave. I don't mind a 5-10 minute walk to the bus stop or the main pool or the food/main area. I requested CP for Jan. How long did it take you to walk to the main areas of the resort and the bus stop and also, what section were you in?

I walked all over the place in POFQ when we went last time so I love the walking, but was sort of concerned because so many people post that it's too far apart from the main area.

Also did you walk to DTD?

You can do it in 7 minutes at a leisurely pace...5 minutes if you are booking it. I like to stay in the Springs as we are constantly back and forth from the pool and AP.
