Well, we just returned fromm our 8 day Orlando excursion. Three nights included the RPR and Universal including HHN.

RPR
The resort is excellent. I don't have anything bad to say about it. The service was top notch, the employees were very curtious, the food was fantastic. We were in tower 1, floor 5, room 29. We had a spectacular view of IOA. I could even see some of the HHN activities at night from my room.

The Orchid Lounge was a great place for continental breakfast in the morning. The pool was just great. My DD5 loved it. The weather was around 75 to 80 degrees each day. I don't think I've ever been to Orlando when the weather was so moderate. It was the best weather we've ever experienced. The hurricane weather hit Monday morning and after it cleared the weather was just great!

All of the amenities at the RPR were great. If you decide to stay there you won't be disappointed!

I went to HHN on Friday 10/28. I couldn't believe how crowded IOA was. I've never seen so many people in the park. This was my first HHN so I was anxious to arrive. The park opened at 6:00PM. I immediately went to the haunted houses as I heard the lines can get long. I went through all of the haunted houses before 7:30PM, no waiting at all. By 9:00PM some of the lines were at 90 minutes. HHN was kind of funny. Definately appeared rated R to me, but I enjoyed it and yes I was scared out of my witts! You never new what to expect in the haunted houses and a couple of times I was completely caught off guard.

All in all it was a great trip. The parks were not that crowded and we had very little waits if any at all with the express room keys. What a great perk! It was definately worth the extra money to stay at the RPR.

The transportation was very effecient. Some mornings we took the walking path, but when we went to the boat dock we waited less than 10 minutes.

If you have any questions please let me know. I'd love to answer them.

Glad you had such a great time. We also love the Royal Pacific.

We went 10/27 on the RIP Tour and Body Collectors had a 120 minute wait. Did you see all of the Houses? B&T? I know IOA like the back of my hand and still would have a hard time even finding the back of the lines.

Glad you had a great trip.
The RPR is the fan favorite around here.

Motherfletcher,
I had a hard time as well. I had to ask some of the HHN employees where to find a couple of the houses, or I would have missed them completely. Getting to the park early for HHN was key. I was able to go through all of the houses in no time. I was even able to get on some of the rides with little wait after I was done with the haunted houses. I would have felt terrible if I would have paid $40 for all an evening express pass and not needed it.

My favorite houses in order were:
1. Deamon Cantina
2. Cold Blind Terror
3. Body Collectors
4. The Skool

The others felt about the same to me.

By the way, riding the Hulk while the lights are off is definately a neat and different experience. I had never ridden the Hulk when it was dark to begin with.

We were ushered around the rear of Demon Cantina and the smell was hideous.
BTW- Wilma tore up Immokalee which is a small farming community inland from Naples and the home of Edgerin James. He hand delivered $15,000 in food and water to help his hometown which I thought was pretty stand up.

We stayed at the RPR for a few days during Christmas last year, after spending a couple of nights at Port Orleans Riverside at Disney. The folks at RPR made us feel like celebrities the whole time we were there. From the time we drove in and the lady in the guard shack, to the busboy who we thought would never leave (he really took the time to explain the parks and resort to us-1st time visit) to the lady in the guard shack who waved "goodbye" when we left.

Throw in the FOTL access and close proximity to parks...a great time.
I think we've actually crossed over to the US/IOA dark side.

Favorite restaurants: Mythos and Pastamore.
