This was our first trip to WDW since I was a child, and we loved it. POR was great. I can't say enough good things about this place. Great room, view, food court, pools, buses! I'd be glad to answer any questions.

Did you have any problems with buses being full from POFQ before they got to your stop? We leave Thursday and can use our car if buses are too crowded. Also, how were the lines at the parks? Thanks!

there were times we had to stand on the buses, but we usually got a seat. We never had to wait long for a bus. Ten minutes at the most. They dropped off & picked up first at POFQ,but it was never a problem. We got to POR at 8:00 in the morning, and our room was ready. We got all our request. We stayed in the Mansions Parterre Place. It was a short walk to the buses, food court, pool. It was so quiet, and peaceful. We would see rabbits outside our room every morning.I loved the boat ride to Downtown Disney. We did early entry to the parks, and the morning's were great. One morning we looked around, and we were the only people walking down a street in MGM! By 12:00 the parks got alittle crowded. We got alot done in the morning, and used fastpass. We had a great time. Hope you have a good trip.

Yeah!! I have been reading nothing but good post about POR. Almost time to start packing!!

we are going to POR May 24th and I am not sure when, how, etc. to request a certain building. We have two boys ages 5 & 8 so I want to be close to the main pool and a bus stop. Any suggestions? This is our first Disney trip and I am nervous about having things go smoothly!

soxymom. When I called to make reservations I gave them room request. We got them. I was told you can fax a roomrequest 4 days before check-in to the resort, but we didn't. I loved Parterre Place. I have 5 yr old son,and he loves the pool. We had a quiet pool right beside us,and the main poll with the slide was only about a 3 minute walk. The buses, and food court were a short two minute walk. We had a water view which was nice. Since it didn't have a balcony we only saw it coming in,and out. It was pretty. You could see the buses going back, and forth to Downtown Disney, and we saw lots of rabbits, and birds. We got there early 8:00 in the mornign, and our room was ready. Have a great trip!

My tibe will be at POR in less than 20 . Cant wait. :thewave:

How long is the boat ride to Downtown Disney? We have to meet someone there, & was wondering how much time to allow to get there from POR.

It was about twenty minutes. It was very relaxing. The boat captain even gave my son some souv. coins to keep after he talked with him awhile. One night the captain had the whole boat singing zip-de-do-da. That puts you in the Disney mood!

Green--we just got back as well and had a great time!! I have to disagree with you about the buses though. We timed it and other than the animal kingdom buses which were coming at a rate of one every 5 minutes (even though they were almost to completely empty) all other buses were about a 20 minute wait. There were many people who were upset about the buses. We knew that this being a slower/less crowded time of year we would have a wait for the buses. On many occasions though we had other guest getting very upset about the wait for the bus, including one family whose son was handicap and in a wheelchair. They had been waiting for a bus for the Magic Kingdom for 30 minutes, when one finally showed up they "forgot" the wheel chair ramp--it was not one with the automatic ramp. That really sent this poor man over the edge and I can't say I blame him. I am not sure why they had so many animal kingdom buses running but it became a joke with us--we didn't let it get us down/upset just went with the flow. We didn't find the buses overly crowded--only stood once or twice.

we were there that year in June and the food court was disappointing. They had one selection spot closed. The only thing to get was like from the grill hamburgers and from the pasta spot pizza and spag. otherwise they had the coolers with sandwiches and the baked goods. My family like chicken moslty and the only choice was the kids chicken fingers.

We have resversations for CSR in August but really like POR so I want to try and switch resorts.
