Just returned from out trip ClubLevel RPR

We spent 4 nights at RPR club level. We first spent 6 nights at Disney's Poly CL. The disney resort is beautiful but I really did not like the colour scheme at all, just too dark and the such a mix of colour scheme.

I was so relieved when I enterd the RPR. Everything looked and felt bright and airy. The check in was a breeze. Our room was 2 rooms away from the club. Housekeeping was great.

Food on club level was excellent. Much better that Poly CL. We actually never had to have breakfast or dinner elsewhere. It was sufficient for us.

The staff at CL were excellent. There was a water taxi going to Universal but we chose to walk each morning and it was not that far.

For me the icing on the top was the express lines. we did not wait in any lines, just flashed our resort keys and we were in. Unlike in Disney you have to rush for fast passes and wait to get more.

At universal we were more relaxed. only got to the parks at 10 and still manged to do all the rides and watch 2 movies as well.

I would not hesitate to stay on this resort.

I agree with you on Poly's CL. Even with a discount it was just not worth the money IMO. Glad you had a good time at RPH!

I have a question for you, I have stayed at RPR many times, but never at the Poly, We were considering Poly for our next trip, how does it compare to the RPR in the pacific tropical theming? From what I've seen of hte Poly pool it looks great, but does the entire resort have a good tropical theme? Palm trees everywhere etc., and which one would you rate as the better themed hotel? Thanks much.

I am not the OP but we have stayed at the Poly every time we go to Disney. We LOVE the Poly. It is very tropical themed. Palm Trees everyone, water falls inside. It makes you feel like you are in Hawaii. Beautifully themed resort. The beach is fantastic. Nothing like sitting in the hammock and seeing Wishes going on or just seeing the MK from the distance. The sand is white and you just feel like you are on a beach in Hawaii. We love it!
I have not been to RPR, though. We are doing our first trip there in April and can't wait to compare the two resorts

I am not the OP but we have stayed at the Poly every time we go to Disney. We LOVE the Poly. It is very tropical themed. Palm Trees everyone, water falls inside. It makes you feel like you are in Hawaii.

Except in Hawaii they actually let you swim in the water.

I've stayed at both and the RPR is much more lighter and open. The pool at Poly absolutely rocks and the pool at RPR is nice but just not as nice - the whole family loves the volcano slide. The rooms at RPR are bigger and again brighter than at Poly. I've always stayed in Concierge Level at Poly (Hawaii) so I'm comparing those rooms to the regular rooms at RPR. Staffwise - both are great.

My DH says that he felt more relaxed at RPR but I think that's because we really didn't have to have a "Plan" for the parks because of the ExpressPass with the room.

I just like the rooms better at RPH. I find the rooms at Poly too dark, just my opinion though. I also like that the sinks are outside the shower/bath and toilet. While someone is in the toilet or having a bath, the other person can brush their teeth and so on.

I also think that the lounge at RPH is better. Its much bigger and more seating areas and about 3 television. we always sat closer to the tv that had a kid channel. They also have a computer and printer with free internet which asks each guest to limit to 15 minutes, which is fair. I also think that their food is much better. I did not like some of the food offerings at poly. Not into banana and cocnut soup for instance. Plus RPH has Starbucks coffee. I think Poly has Nescafe, I could be wrong.

However I think that the grounds, garden and pools are better at Poly. The Poly is a much bigger resort. I loved the Poly but the rooms and CL was better at RPH.

Disney felt like a race. We had to be in line for fast passes, check when the fast passes were expiring to get a new one. At Universal we did not need to plan. We were very relaxed. Left the hotel at only 10 in the morning on some days. We even managed to watch 2 movies in the afternoon.

The real great thing about staying onsite at Universal is the express lines. Virtually every show or ride has an Express line and it is definitely express, hardly ever a wait. The harry Potter rides dont have an express line but the park opens an hr early for resort guests to take advantage of the ride.

Thanks duktes! I feel really confident now that we will like RPH. My kids and husband love the lounge at the Poly, glad to know that RPH is at least, if not better, than that!

I agree that the rooms at the Poly are dark, but at Disney, we are rarely in our rooms because it's a constant going. We are either in the parks, in the club lounge or by the pool, so the darkness doesn't bother us too much. I do agree with you on the bathrooms as well. It's nice to have the sink on the outside.

I can't wait to take a more relaxing vacation this time. Sometimes I think all that going, going at Disney burns the kids out. It will be nice to take our time and not have to rush everywhere. I am REALLY looking forward to not having to hurry to ADR's every day too.

Hey again, that's the great thing about universal is you don't need a plan staying on site is like you own the place, so you can come and go as you please and get to the front of the line on the rides with your room keys on almost all the rides (FJ and 1 or 2 others is the only exceptions to this). The only plan you need is where to eat dinner (don't normally need ressies at most places though, just choosing is the part to plan), if you want to do a pool day and pool hop at all the resorts and check the other pools out (Portifino actually has the best pool IMO) so you can hop over there on your pool day etc. I never have much of a plan other than, scheduling days when I'm there. Then we just do the parks when we want, hang at one for half a day go to the other the rest ect.

While I have never stay at poly I have stayed at RPR and every stay at RPR has been great cause the staff always goes out of thier way for us and it is the most relaxing hotel we have stayed at in Orlando

Why doesn't disney try the front of line access? Maybe because there are so many onsite hotels? Also why don't you need ressies at Universal? I would think maybe because most people are offsite and go somewhere else to eat? It's just amazes me you don't need ressies. I love it! even less planning.
