What a great hotel!! DD went absolutely wild when we pulled into the driveway (it was a surprise) Great room. She absolutely loved her sponge bob room!!! I paid 148.00 a night and would do it again in a heartbeat!! She played Nick games by the pool and we also went to studio nick in the mall. Great show. We were in room 210. You walked out our door and right into the oasis pool. Awesome!! I'm glad we weren't next to the lagoon pool because there is still a bit of construction going on over there. DD did face painting and balloon animals. We also went to the character breakfast. Great interaction. Chuckie and Dora had a dance off OMG did I laugh. We stayed at AKL and SOG but my DD's fav was NICK fs. Absolutely awesome!! Any questions??

Thank you, thank you, thank you! We'll be there June 29 and 30. Paid $180 with AAA but it sounds well worth it. THe kids can't wait but so many people were writing negative things on the boards I was nervous what DH would think of it. Its only for two nights and I think the kids activities sound great. We have a reservation for the kids character breakfast also. How was the food? How were the pools? We weren't going to do the parks those two days but thought we might go over to DTD. Is there a shuttle there or can we catch a cab? What's a good area to request - we already requested the bunk beds and a Sponge BOb theme. Tell me everything! We go from there to the GF - talk about a change (I have a feeling though that the kids will miss the "Nick" hotel).

We'll be there in two weeks. You mentioned construction at the lagoon pool. Is it open? How was the food? We're sort-of planning to have breakfast there every morning before we hit Universal. Do kids still eat free? Any particular area of the resort we should ask for? We'd like to be near a pool.

Thanks!

We only ate at the character breakfast and the food was not great but the character interaction was. Well worth the money. They have a cast member on a mike talking to the kids, telling jokes and egging the characters on. They play music and it gets kind of noisy. They encourage the kids to get up and dance and Spongebob, Patrick, Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster and Dora dance and goof off and you can take pictures of the characters at the same time. Very informal. We had room 210 and it was literally 10 feet from the pool and it was at the end of the building near the walkway to the parking lot. Building 1-5 surround the Oasis pool and I believe the even numbers face the pool. odd numbers face the parking lot. I think. They have shuttle bus stops for Disney and Universal right outside. The Lagoon pool was open and they had mini golf but the morning we went over they had a pooping incident and the pool was closed. Otherwise it is open but there is construction going on in some of the rooms. Kids eat free at regular meals not character breakfasts. Here are some pics. The Oasis pool is the one with DD. The lagoon pic is the empty pool being shocked .

Wow! Thanks for all the info and the pics. It doesn't look very crowded at the Oasis pool. We are planning on spending our arrival day and one other day just hanging around the hotel at the pools. How are the crowds? Were you able to check in early at all?

And what's the studio nick show?

I AM SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!! Thank you so much for the review! I will be there at the end of next week for two nights. Is there much construction? Should I try to request a room in a certain area? Thanks so much for the info.

The only signs of construction I saw were the construction workers in the parking lot. We spent most of our time in the Oasis area and the Mall and did not see any actual construction. As far as the oasis side I think all the even numbered rooms are pretty close to the pool bldg 1-5 we practically on top of the Oasis pool. I really loved our location rooms 210-218 even are all on the first floor facing the pool.

The pool wasn't crowded because my crazy DD was out there at 8:00am  We didn't check in early. We spent the day at Universal and with FOTL we were done by 3:00 so we headed over to Nick. Our room was ready at 3:30pm. The crowds weren't bad at all. Studio Nick is a hall with a live entertainment show called Nick Live they put it on 3 times a night. They play nick games and pick kids from the audience. Parents too, my DH got picked and had to dress up as a baby. He had to wear a giant diaper and baby bonnet and sit in a high chair while kids threw water balloons at him. Then he had to smash a pie in his own face. lol. Luckily he had several beers at the pool bar before the show. FYI don't sit in the front row :rotfl: They also have bingo and family karaoke but we didn't try those. The Mall is the building that connects the 2 pool areas. The Arcade , gift shop , kids spa and buffets are located in the mall. They also have a shop called other stuff that carries convenience store type items. HTH :wave2:

I didn't relize with this hotel you got fotl.....I thought it was just the onsite hotels..or did you buy the passes..thanks..great report..amy :flower:

No you don't get FOTL at Nick FS. We stayed at HRH before moving to Nick. You can still use FOTL on the day you check out. We checked out of HRH on Mon and used FOTL all day then checked in to Nick FS Mon afternoon. Sorry for the confusion. :wave2:

Thanks for the great report and pics. My dd's love SpongBob and especially Patrick !

Just back from Nick hotel. We paid $169 for our room and could of upgraded for $20 to poolside. So if you had a rate of $148 and pool side what a deal. We also stayed on the Lagoon Side. It was nice, some construction at the Snack & Beverage Center. Kids liked the Oasis side better. The Snack & Beverage Center was open. Also the slides at the Oasis end in the pool. The Lagoon water park was bigger but the water was very cold. We ate breakfast once it was costly and just so-so at best. Kids 12 and under eat free. The character breakfast food was a lot better than the regular breakfast buffet. They had omlette station and waffle bar. The characters were great. A little disappointed with SpongeBob, he stands in a corner and you have to go over and stand with him. He doesn't interact well. I'm sure it has something to do with the awkardness of the costume. Overall it was a good experience. Although I wished we had stayed on Disney property the extra perks are worth it. Also it is located very close to DTD. I don't believe they had a shuttle to there though. Any more questions I would be happy to answer.

How did you get the great rate?? I just booked for over $200. Was it mousesavers?

Yep, It was mousesavers. Gotta love Mary :cheer2:I think our original rate was 189.00 a night with either a AAA or military discount then Mary posted about the mousesavers rate and I called and was able to change my rate. I never requested pool side I didn't even realize it was an upgrade, all I requested was a spongebob room.

I called the Hotel Reservations last July for the last week of April. Maybe since the official opening is May 31 their rates will be higher. I'm not sure that it is worth $200. There is a lot of Disney properties that are just as nice for the same-less-or a little more. Really wished we had done this hotel for only 1-2 nights and moved to Disney.
