We just got back from our 4-night 5-day stay at the Contemporary Resort. We stayed on the 12th Floor, Concierge Light. Well, I don't know what was light about it. We had a wonderful time and would never stay anywhere else.
We got there on a Thursday, at 11:00am and our room was ready. We got the MK view. WOW! Every night we watched the Wishes fireworks display. It was just perfect. We were traveling with 3 children, and they were just amazed. You could even see the boat parade at night. The continental breakfast was just right. It had muffins, crispy cream donuts, croissants, bagels, pastries, fresh fruit, frootloops, raisinbran, cheerios, bran, coffee, tea, bottled water, milk, 2%milk, chocolate milk, orange juice and cranberry juice. What more could you want. In the afternoon, they had goldfish crackers, pretzels, chocolate chip, sugar, and oatmeal cookies, brownies, fruit, rice crispy treats, coffee, tea, soda, lemonade and bottled water. The cookies are out of this world. In the evening I would ask the concierge for bottle water and they were more than happy to get it for me. The beds are turned down, with chocolates on the pillow every night. It was great to be able to just hop on the monorail and go to the different parks and restaurants to eat. If you would like to know about restaurants let me know we went to Trails End, Chef Mickey’s, Concourse Steakhouse, 1900 Park Fare, Tony’s at the MK, Beach’s and Cream, Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney, Food and Fun Center at Contemporary resort and Mama Melrose at MGM.

Since you offered to tell, I would like to know about:

Concourse Steakhouse
Planet Hollywood
and the Food and Fun Center.

We are staying there next June. I'm very excited and it's great to hear you loved it so much.

Hi. Glad you had a good time! Would love to try CR someday. Which did you enjoy more, Tony's or Concourse? I have one more Dinner PS to make and those 2 are on my list. Thanks! :mickeybar

Thanks for the report :) We are staying on the 12th floor next month. Is there a seating area where the food is set out, or do you have to take it back to your room? Also, how was the check-in process? We've stayed at the CR before, but never on the 12th floor. From what I'm told there is a separate check-in for concierge-is this true? Glad you had such a good time :sunny:

The 12th floor Tower Club is great. Yes, there is a separate check in. You let the security guard know that you are a concierge guest and someone will be waiting for you at the door to take you and your baggage up to the 12th floor to check in. No waiting in the line on the first floor. There is a place to eat, near the breakfast buffet. There are tables set up, and they will take care of clearing them, I didn't know that and was looking for a place to put the plates when they told me. LOL. If I had my pick of Tony's or Concourse, definitely the Concourse. The prices are not bad, and the meal was really great. Hubby had prime rib, I had the filet, one of the kids had the kids fillet it was all wonderful. Tony's was good, but not as great as the Concourse. As for Planet Hollywood. I don't recommend it. My hubby had the hamburger, he said it was good, but I had the spaghetti. I sent it back after one bite. The tomatoes on top were not even close to being ripe. Very bitter. They did however take it off the bill. The food and fun center is ok, but a bit pricey for fast food. We paid about as much as at the Concourse, so I would definatly choose the Concourse. It is pretty much fast food, grilled cheese, fries, hot dogs, sandwiches, cereal, and drinks. They do have a mug that you can purchase for $11.99 and has unlimited refills for the time you are staying. If you stay on the 12th floor you can get free soda so you don't really need it. Also, the Trails End restaurant I would not recommend for dinner. My son went to eat what he thought was roast beef, when the person carving it told him it was buffalo I thought he was going to pass out. LOL But the food wasn't that great and not a lot of choice. I heard their breakfast was a lot better. As, for 1900 Park Fare, that was really good too. Make sure you get the bread pudding, WOW. And the characters are good they really took there time with everyone. Chef Mickeys, as always was great. And it was nice waking up to them announcing mickey at 7am. The kids thought that was cool. It is not that loud in the room, just enough to let you know you are still at disney world. Hope this helps, I have a pic of the 12th floor buffet, during snack time I will try and put on here.

Do they have soda now? Last fall, they only had lemonade, no soda. Were your fridge's stocked with juice and soda. (Ours on 14 were.)

No, the fridge was not stocked. But you could get what ever you wanted from the buffet. Yes they had soda, coke, sprite, diet sprite and something else I can' remember. We had such fun, I am thinking about planning for our next trip already.

We had so much fun at our recent trip that we have decided to go back next year. I am trying to check prices online but no matter what date I put in it says there is not anything available? Any suggestions?

Erinz, we will be there 12/3-12/10 - Tower Club - see you there!!! :wave2:

Thanks for the report.....we're staying on the 12th floor for five nights at the end of September, and we'll be catching the first MNSSHP! :cool1:

We are wondering if they've renovated the 12th floor rooms yet or if you heard when it's going to be done...thanks in advance for your answer!

Sorry it took so long to reply, we went on vacation to North Carolina. (Didn't compare to Disney) No nothing was renovated yet, they were working on one of the wings though.

We are staying 12th floor 10/29-11/05. I was wondering how much preplanning you did as far as PS for your meals? Did you ever use the concierge services to schedule dining times?

Thanks

The only thing we pre-planned was for chef mickeys, I wanted that on a certain day. When we got there the concierge was no help couldn't get us any pm we wanted. So we just went to the resturant and got in every time.

Oh my gosh!! How cool! Actually it looks like we will be checking in to the CR on the 4th. There will be me, my DH and DD. My DD has read hair and glasses. I'll be the blonde with the big grin on her face. Say hi if you see us!
