Just returned from BWV. Have a question.

We just took our first DVC trip and we loved it and had a great time. I have a question for people about the BWV. Has anyone ever stayed there and thought that it did not seem Disneyey(Not really a word but I think you get the picuture) enough? We have stayed all over Disney World in the past before we owned DVC. a Even though we loved the Villas and the Vacation Club atmosphere we were disappointed with not getting as much of the Disney feeling at the Boardwalk. Anyone else feel this way? This is not trying to bash DVC or BWV because we are already planning our next trip, but I just thought I would ask others opinions.

We own at BWV and have stayed there a few times. I'm not quite sure what you mean by Disneyey but BWV is my favorite place to stay. We love to stay at POR when we aren't on points and I can't really say that it feels more Disneyey than BWV. Maybe you could post some thoughts comparing BWV to other resorts you have stayed in so I can see more where your coming from.

If you don't feel disneyey(?) at BWV, it is a 5 minute walk to Epcot and a 10 minute walk to MGM to get that disneyey feeling. A true benefit to staying at BWV - unless you think the bus rides are disneyey .

By Disneyey, do you mean characterish? Or maybe more kid oriented? Someone once told me they thought the All Star resorts are the most themed resorts. To them, that was Disneyey. I think the Boardwalk has more subtle theming. I'm actually somewhat new to Disney. We bought during our first on-sight stay. So I don't have as much experience as some of the posters here. I've only been to a handful of resorts (although I now see them pretty often). To me, a resort that can take you from this time and place and transport you to another is Disneyey, so the Boardwalk fits that desciption. But at the Boardwalk the theme is not as in-your-face because there aren't obvious costumes and things like that. For some people the icons at the All Stars is what makes a resort Disneyey. I think what's great about Disney is that it fits all styles. And what's great about my DVC membership is that I can try them all out and see what appeals to me the most. And as my life changes and my needs and wants change, DVC can accomodate me. Aren't we lucky?

SJUguy, I think I may kind of know what you mean. We went to BWV over Memorial Day weekend last year (our first DVC stay) and I wasn't sure at first about it. While I loved the large accomodations compared to regular rooms, the resort felt different. I don't know what it was exactly to make me feel that way. Now that I've been to 3 other DVC resorts and been a member for a year now, I realize that BWV is a great resort as are all the others. It just took staying at other resorts to realize what I liked about it such as the location.

Hi, I personally think that the BVW are very "Disney", they are well themed, have great resturants and are clean, all things I associate with "Disney"!
Would knowing where several hidden Mickeys are in the resort help you fell like you are more in the magic? I found several on our trip (May 5-12th) and they trilled me every time I passed them! Email me if you want to know the ones I found. I do not want to post them here incase someone does not want to be told!

I'm not sure what you mean by too disneyey. I've stayed at the Dolphin prior to owning and didn't feel any less or any more disneyey there. I've also stayed at OKW. And actually staying at OKW felt a little out of the loop. I own at BWV and think it is great. We get the feel of both the Boardwalk and Disney wrapped up in one package. I honestly can say I really haven't had a bad experience at any of the places we have stayed at.
