Hi,

We just returned from our 2 week vacation and spend a week at Swan and a Week at Saratoga Springs.

They offer lots of fun poolside games at the grotto pool in the afternoon but something new we enjoyed was the Dive-In movie Saturday night "Finding Nemo". They set it up really nicely in the cave area where the waterfall is and looked so neat with the big screen under it. They gave everyone Tubes to sit on in the water while watching the movie and sold Popcorn and drinks. The movie started at 8:45 pm.

Looks like Swan/Dolphin is really getting more into offering more fun things for their guests including the Dive in Movie. While there in the afternoon they had dance music playing, hula contests, basketball competitions all this for the kids.

gm - We will be staying at the Dolphin for a couple of nights in 13 days!! Is this poolside game thing something they do every day?? Do they tell you the schedule when you check in? Same with the Dive in Movie?? Sounds like fun. :sunny:

We stayed in the Swan last August and we were soooo busy running around like nuts through the parks that we didn't spend any time at the resort at all. My kids really want to take more time and enjoy the pool this visit. (We say that every time, though, and still go crazy when we get there!!) There is just so much to do & redo.....

Thanks for the info -

This sounds like so much fun! I'm trying to picture it, though - do they turn off the waterfall during the movie?

Hi,

No, I did not get a schedule at check-in but remember seeing a posting at the pool area. It is usually till about noon till 5 to 6pm. We noticed them packing up by that time and no games were played after 6. They even had a big stereo sound system set up with a Dj for dancing for the kids. They advertised the dive in movie on a Very Huge ball in the lake between Swan and Dolphin with the words "Dive In Movie". We saw the ball on Friday afternoon while leaving for Epcot and thought the movie was Friday night and when we showed up around 8 they did not play it and so the next day while swimming, I asked the lifeguard and he said it is today(Saturday at 8:45). We were there at 7pm swimming while they were setting up and than before the movie started they started handing everyone big round tubes to sit on and set up a popcorn and drink station. It was really fun. The screen was huge and the sound system was amazing. We turned our head back at 9pm to watch the epcot illuminations fireworks. Wow what fun!!! :cool1:

WOW!! That sounds great!! I hope they will still have this next year! My friend's mother works for Westin/Sheraton and she can get a discount there. My friend is planning to go next summer and we're planning to head out there together and we might stay there next year! It sounds so much fun!! Thanks for sharing!!

Hi Litebrite,

Yes, They turned off the waterfall early during the day of the movie and had closed off the area behind the waterfall for set up. :cool1:

I also forgot to mention that they had hair braiding and Henna art for hands set up at the poolside too everyday.

I hope this is still going on when we go in September. Our arrival day is Saturday September 3rd. and this would be a great idea for our first night! Thanks for posting the information about it!

Last summer they had pool activities, but only on the 4th of July, not for the remainder of our time there.

Thats cool. They have them at Universal and we also enjoyed hanging out at the pool watching a movie.

Wow, I never heard about this before. That sounds so neat! Thanks for the tip!
