My husband and I along with are two sons, 4 and 1 and extended family were at Disny from 9-23 till 10-1. Here are my thoughts about the trip.

We stayed at POP Century. We have never stayed here before and found we did enjoy the resort. The food court was very busy but we really never waited much in line and were able to find a table. Our rooms were kept clean however, no towel animals :(

Scooters....need I say more? Wow. I do not remember having to wait for so many scooters!! I think people are taking advatage of them. I understand getting on first when you have a medical reason but I don't think I should have to wait for the others to board before me along with their family. One time there were 5 scooters waiting!!! Awful!

I thought the parks were busy but we didn't wait much for rides. We waited 70 min for Splash Mountain. When we got to the fork where the fastpass meets the stand by, the CM took probably 50 fastpass to 10 stand by if not more. There needs to be rules. I understand they have a fast pass but you can't forget about those that don't.

Dining....T-Rex was AWESOME!! Wish it was on the dining plan! I highly reccommend eating here! Crystal Palace was very good! We LOVED Canada! We ate lunch here and used 1 table service. I would eat here again, if not twice next time. Hollywood and Vine was alright. I think I would try Mama Melrose. We liked the Fantasmic package, didn't have to wait in that long line. CRT...not so great. It was fun seeing all the princesses but the food was not good. We had lunch here and the menu choices, I think 4, were not good. The portions were small. I think I would try dinner, perhaps a better menu? Not worth 2 table services. We really enjoyed the characters at Tusker House, I would eat there again! Sci Fi was very good this time also! The shrimp was so so good and the milkshakes were nice and think! Ohana's was great also! Over all, we got in right away when we arrived and our food came very quickly! We had great service at all locations.

We had a great trip except for the heat and humidity, wow. Can't wait to plan our next one! Any thoughts or questions let me know! :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a great trip! I'm with you on the scooters thing to, btw. Also, we LOVE t-rex. Good menu, great atmosphere. We'll probably eat dinner there one night on our next trip :)

Did you go to MNSSHP?

We did! I can't believe I forgot to mention that :goodvibes We LOVED the parade! We also didn't wait long for the candy lines, but only did 2 or 3. I found the park very busy. The wait times weren't any better except during the fireworks. Not sure if we will do it again for how much it cost. We didn't meet any characters due to super long lines! It was fun though dressing up and just being in the park!

First of all, how did you know that all 5 scooters riders didn't have a medical reason? Second, what does it matter that there were 5 scooters? Only two are allowed on the bus anyway. You probably got on the first bus, but the 3rd & 4th had to wait for a second bus, and the 5th had to see two buses go by, however full or empty, before they were allowed on. So what difference does it make to you how many scooters more than 2 were waiting?

We, too, just got back. Agree with you on 'Ohana and had dinner in Canada - both super! I haven't had a meal in CRT in a few years, but have always had breakfast and liked it. Maybe that's an option. Loved Crystal Palace and Tusker House breakfast, and Kona Kafe - Tonga Toast was yummy! Could have used it a few degrees cooler though - but all in all, a great trip. Did and saw a lot. First NSSHP, great parade and fireworks. Long lines for trick or treating. Still like MVMCP. Enjoyed Food and Wine Fest. Wish I could have had more time there.:goodvibes

Did you have reservations at t-rex? We are wanting to eat there I think when we go in 3 weeks but haven't made reservations yet and didn't know if we would be able to be seated if we just showed up?

There are rules, that is why so many fast passes were let through.

Glad you had a good trip. Haven't eaten at T-rex yet, but have at the Rainforest Cafe and loved it. I hear they are very similar.

Take it easy mate. The OP said they understand the medical reasons. It's the others she's venting about. You can't honestly believe that there's no abuse going on and that 100% of scooters are medically necessary, do you?

Sorry those of us with hidden medical needs bother you so much. I have fibromyalgia and sometimes I can't walk long distances...WDW. You can't see a disablitly, does this mean I'm not entitled to an ecv or wheelchair so that I too can enjoy WDW? If WDW believes they need to load them first then so be it. Would you want to split your party up every time you went on a bus?

I'm sorry, but assuming people are using them to take advantage of something is just narrow minded. There is no front of the the line pass for their use. We wait too. My dad was in a power wheelchair from being paralyazed from the waist down. He once waited as 5 buses went by and took on passengers, but did not allow him to put his chair in an empty tie down spot. There are 2 sides to every story.

If that person on the 5th scooter in line was indeed abusing the system, they got a rude awakening having to wait 2 buses while all those people in line were passing them up because there was no more room for scooters on not only the first but the second bus as well don't you think? And if there weren't two buses worth in line passing them, they had to wait anyway.
At the end of the day, when one bus loads a scooter, a second double parks behind it and loads regular passengers and takes off. Another one does the same. And it is usually 3 or 4 buses that are able to load regular passengers before the one loading the scooters finally loads up. Sometimes it is done by the 3rd bus. But other times, it then has to sit and wait for the 4th to fill up and finish and move out of its way before it can take off. So if there are 4 or 5 scooters in line at the end of the day, if the person riding that 5th scooter is abusing the system, they're in for a rude awakening as 10-11 buses load before they get to load the 12th bus first. So the reality then is those that abuse the system aren't over the long haul gaining much, if anything by riding the scooter. And they may get on their bus first. But that also means they get off last.

Okay, this was not to be about scooters, rather my opinion about my vacation that I enjoyed very much actually. My complaint about scooters is I feel there were many more than past visits and it seems anyone can use them. I'm leaving it at that.

Yes, we did have reservations at T-Rex!! I really think you should eat here! Can't wait to eat here again!!!:thumbsup2

you only had to use 1 table service credit for Le Cellier? I thought they were 2 credits now? :confused3

Why can't people just get over themselves, and mind their own business when it comes to people in scooters?? I just don't get it. You really have that little going on in your life, that while your on vacation, you spend so much time worrying about what others are doing, and weather you think they should be in the scooters that they paid for? Not only so worried about it while on this vacation, but to then vocalize it on a disney chat site??

My mother is coming to Disney with us in 3 weeks. Shes fat. She talks a lot. Shes happy. There is no obvious reason that she will be in the scooter because YOU CAN'T SEE THE BLOOD CLOTS ON HER LUNGS, OR THE BREAST CANCER THAT HAS TAKEN BOTH OF HER BREASTS. So any morons who want to make a comment about it, you go right ahead. And I'll have a comment (and probably a bit more) right back for you.

Stay calm, and carry on. And stop worrying about what others are doing.

If you didn't want your thread tobe about ECVs, perhaps you shouldn't have chosen to rant about them and their riders in your original post. Instead of focusing on what you enjoyed, you made the primary focus of the post your dissapointmemt regarding towel animals and disbelief re: perceived "scooter" abuse

I hear what you are saying about more more scooters.. Not that anyone was abusing them. To be honest, the way I am starting to feel, Disney needs to set up right and left walk ways for directions between dodging scooters, wheelchairs and strollers.. and yes, I have used strollers there, and yes, I have had my DD in a wheelchair there.. and if my DH goes, he will be in a wheelchair. When you have crowds (as was in the MK on Saturday) and that many wheeled modes of transportation, there needs to be some safely measures in place for all involved. You have families with small children running, you have those in ECV scooting by fast.. and that is an accident waiting to happen. There was a woman who came flying and I do mean flying into the bathroom on her EVC, a child was coming out of the stall, she nearly ran her down.. the woman did not stop. I am sure she had to potty pretty bad and was going right for the handicapped stall, but she should have slowed down in that restroom zipping by the stall doors.. Those EVC's are heavy machines and can seriously hurt a small child.. then what will Disney do :confused3 A not so Magical Moment in my eyes if you ask me....

I'm glad you had a great trip! :flower3:

We ate at LeCellier twice on our last trip, too. We have one lunch planned for this trip, but now wishing I had two again..:banana::banana:

As someone who recently had a double hip replacement and is going to the world on Thursday and has ordered a scooter at considerable expense,I took offense to the comments. I have always been a very active person , am not overweight but have the misfortune to have severe osteoarthritis. I wish I could walk without pain like i used to but I can't. walk amile in someone elses shoes and you might have a little compassion for people who try to enjoy themselves despite having to live with constant pain. I dread needing to go on the bus so will probably just visit parks that I can motor to from the boardwalk. If I had the courage to try the buses I would hope people would not give me the evil eye because I want my family on the same bus. Luckily I am someone who doesn't give pay attention to what others think. I do what I can to be with my family but I can see how it might keep others from using a scooter .

I am always amazed that very able bodied people can admit that they are exhausted at the end of the day, and yet not be able to see that people not in prime A1 condition might need a little help to walk several miles while also standing in one spot for 30-45 minutes.
We were there from 9/24 til 10/2. We did not see any more scooters than usual.
