Disney's standards are actually a lot higher than the laws require in FL.

Well, after their close call with Country Walk Estates in Miami and Hurricane Andrew...I would only HOPE they would have learned their lesson. (my parents lived there in one of the houses that survived...if anyone cares, read Carl Hiaasen's non-fiction (and tiny) book about WDW)

When I walked in, the room had been assigned to me before I got there. As opposed to "room ready" which they did for several years - where the CM would assign you a room when you checked in.

Not a BWV owner or even a big fan, personall preference I prefer the SSR/OKW setup. Having said that, IMO OP sounds a little fishey, come on, water from the light fixture but did not report it to maint. for fear of raising dues, let the whole place burn down but keep the dues low. Again JMO but sounds like either resort bashing just to get a rise out of board members, or someone had a bad trip and wants revenge on DVC. Rooms are sometimes not as clean as they should be and things do break but op was over the top. I have stayed at BWV in the past and will again, found everthing in order and all CM's polite and helpful it is a beautiful resort.

Disney has a magical thing called maintenance, you pick up the phone and they show up and fix the problem in no time. I only wish I had that option in my own home!!! !!!

Yea it's called a husband and if I'm to slow i'll get fired or worse!!!

Less that 5 hours ago my plane landed in NYC after a great 5 day stay at the Boardwalk. I must admitt; this thread stuck in my mind as I entered my 1 BR unit. Let me begin by saying the room was in excellent condition. I was the poster who walked into SSR last July to a bathroom with a juzuzzi whose tiles were all broken around the base. Well, that wasn't the case here at all. Everything was very clean, no dust and everything was in working. I was even surprised to see the little "towel critters" in three locations. I haven't seen this in awhile.

I had a great stay dispite the fact that my room wasn't ready when I checked in around 11:30. I did get in about 2:00 which wasn't that bad. I headed right to the pool and de-stressed. And, I will make sure that I always request a room on floors 2 and above. I had a 1st floor room and no balcony. I had a patio hidden behind bushes and bushes bring bugs! No needless to say I missed drinking my coffee in the mornings on my balcony.

But again, I just wanted to say that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my room and it was clean!

Whew....I've been extremely nervous about our upcoming trip (11-17/24) ; but after reading your review, I feel much better.
