Just returned...bought in....

Hello all...just returned from a beauiful 7 day cruise on the Magic....and had the opportunity to buy into the vacation club on the ship....had done the presentation on a previous trip to the world so I knew how it worked....the offer on the ship is that if you booked before you left the ship they would credit you $1500. towards the purchase price....your points were backdated to last December....if you give them those back they will give you $1500....so we took the money....bought 150 points to start with....maybe will add some someday.....but a question I have is that since we booked on the ship....we did not get anything except a couple of free gifts....when do we get our temporary cards so we can attempt to make some reservations....we are looking for 3 nights in September in a studio and 7 nights in a studio in beginning of December.....are these times difficult to get what you want....bought into BCV.......checked them out on Saturday and they are beautiful.......we have always wanted to join but I just did not want to make the investment.....so I hope I made the right decision.....

Call Member services today and give them your Social Secuity number - you are probably in their system - if you are then you make the reservations now.

for your September trip no problem - for the December trip call your guide (sale person) they should have given you their toll free phone number and see if what they can do for you.

you can try MS first - but December is very, very popular with DVC members and I think the BCV has been sold out for a while - the only thing open is OKW (I think - it may be sold out now too). But the guides have access to other means and sometimes can get you the reservation - they only do this for new members.

next year make your December reservations in January as soon as you can.

Hello again....I am both happy and sad....happy that things went great on the cruise and unhappy I did not get to meet and chat with more of the DISers.....there is always next year....but we did take the plunge and buy in.....a lot of money all at once but it seems like the right thing to do these days.....anyway...already called and made our reservation for 3 nights in September....and called for December 2-9th...all that was available was Old Key West.....and the night of December 4th was not available....so we are waitlisted for the one night, which the woman says should be no problem.....and on a waitlist for the Boardwalk studio....not too optomistic (sp) but looking forward to staying and not having a bill when we check out.....anyway....thanks for all the kind words...sorry we did not do this years ago!

MS told me I got the last BCV studio for December 4...and that was back in March... so December is VERY popular. But there might be a cancellation...and I love Old Key West. Staying there would be fine.
