Just returned, Beach Club, Any Questions?

We just returned from a six night stay at the Beach Club Resort. Please let me know if you have any specific questions. We found the parks fairly manageable with the exception of Memorial Day when we were over at Animal Kingdom. We rode the Primeveal Whirl in pouring rain. The highlight of the trip was the Illuminaitons Fireworks cruise which we did on Monday night. We ate twice at Cape May Cafe, great as usual. We also ate over at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. This was the first time we have eaten at this restaurant in about three years and we were disappointed. There was not a wide variety of different foods and it quite a long time for all of the characters to ciculate.

Now we have to start planning our December trip!

Did you happen to have one of the rooms with a day bed or full balcony? Did you have water view or regular?

Is the Illuminations cruise really that much better than watching from the World Showcase?

We had a water view room and we were in room 2567. The room overlooked the courtyard which contains the vollyball court. Our view of the "water" (Crescent Lake) was limited due to a tree which was located in front of the room.

We were on the 2nd floor and the room had one of the larger balconies. I always request a 2nd floor at the Beach Club as most of these rooms have the larger balconies. The room also had a daybed.

Storm-a-log Bay was open from 9:00 am to 10:00 P.M.

We did not take the tour of the Beach Club Villas.

The view from the boat of Illuminations was excellent. The curise itself was so relaxing and it was nice not having a stake out a viewing spot in advance.

I did have an unexpected suprise when paying for the FireWorks Cruise. I paid for it with my American Express Card so I was entitled to a 15% discount off of the price of the crusie.

Josierac: The Beach Club is by far my favorite Disney Resort. I have stayed at about 8 of the other Disney Resorts. I like the Beach Club because of: 1) Storm-A-Long Bay, 2) being able to walk to Epcot, 3) the causal feel of the resort.

Why didn't you like Chef Mickey's? What kind of food did they have? We have PS for there in August. Don't want to spend the $$ if food isn't great. thanks!
